I love facts, figures and stats, and out of interest I divided my article views by my number of live articles to see what number I would get. The result was an average of 82 views per article. Not too bad, especially as I don't have any articles ranking highly in the search engines for highly searched terms. I'm sure some of the numbers you guys come back with will make me feel silly, but I'm always striving to get more exposure for my articles in terms of the search engines via backlinking and such so hopefully my average will increase over time
So what's your number? Total article views divided by number of live articles = ? |

If I am doing what you do, math wise, then it's 230 views per article.

Total article views divided by number of live articles = 518
Your average will increase over time though - some of my articles have been live since 2007. |

It will depends on the niche. The average nb of views in the Internet marketing niche is really different than the average view in the weight loss market for example. The latest is significantly higher.
I have many articles in the IM niche, and although the average view isn't high, they make me more money in the long run that my other niches. In those niche the visitor value is like $0,27 while in the IM niche, it's more something like $1 per visitor. You need to understand what is your visitor value. Franck |

I normally get between 70-90, but I don't marketed them in anyway. I just put them on EZA for backlinks

That completely depends on the niche. I write in several different niches. Some receive 10-20, while others receive 1000-2000 views.
I know that this does not help one bit, but since you asked.... |

Yeah, it's not a number you can settle on. I just started last month and a couple 2-week old articles have 200 views each while a few have around 10-20 views and probably won't get much more. Now that I'm getting the hang of it, I'm expecting more consistent numbers from here on in.

I think what I'm trying to say is that the numbers are niche dependent.
Internet marketing and money making will seldom receive more than 100 views simply because of the competition. However, certain "men's issues" might do better because of less competition and more people looking. |

The good ones have thousands, and ones that flopped have 25 or less.

It varies wildly. I have one that went live yesterday at 10:30AM and it is already upto 177 views, others have been out for two years and have barely broken 300.
The title matters. Where it appears in google matters. The best formula I have found to work is look at the first page in google. If there are youtube, EZA, hubpages, squidoo etc in the first 10 listings you CAN own that page. And if you hit a gusher then sit back and watch the action unfold!!!! Simon |
