Default Google, Bing, Yahoo

I have been checking my awstats and it is interesting to see the changes in the past 6 weeks.

The googlebot was always top of my robots/spiders, now they are in 3rd place with Yahoo slurp in top position.

I can go back to July and find Googlebot was top as it was in every other month.

The other interesting thing is Yahoo slurp hits are around 450 - 500% more than google.

I have checked all our sites, and they are showing the same sort of figures.

Jay, interesting. I don't know why it happened, but for all our sites to change like that made me wonder.

Thanks for that, time to dig deeper to see what is happening.

Google looks to have made some fundamental changes in the last few weeks. I'm seeing similar position jostling in my stats, Bev. I'm also seeing significant changes in the SERPs across several niches and keyword searches. Maybe their "Caffeinated" change is finally kicking in? Who knows with Google. But you're not alone.

John

Google stays on a website/webpage randomly and visits it randomly. So it could be that or Yahoo trying to improve their search results and compete with Google gaint.

More interesting to me is that all the hype and money thrown at Bing has had very little effect on traffic across my network. I had hoped the big Bing push would win more mindshare in the general public but it doesn't seem to be taking effect yet.

And if your site is on the top results in a competitive niche Google will crawl you every day.

I was checking keywords and on Google I rank anything between 3rd and 5th on the 1st page. In Yahoo and Bing 1st position for the same keywords.

As I say this isn't just 1 site and not even in the same niche.
