one of my goals in life is to have a billion dollar business, even though I outsource and have a small team of people to work for me, I still slam out 10-12 hours plus a day for one I dont mind it, and for 2 my business isn't just mainly online. I do many other things each day, one for example is searching for start up companies to invest in, and turn around for a lifetime share of the profits, I am also actively involved in trading penny stocks, and real estate investing mainly wholesaling. of course I could walk away at any given time and still make money for life because of the residuals I have built, but I want more. My internet marketing business takes up the least amount of time, but still takes up a few hours a day. I dont count the time I spend in the warrior forum as work, I also don't count the times I am reading or studying as work, which also take up a good portion of my day. I love what I do so much that it's all I want to do ever. and it is all I do. I rarely do anything else because I feel like I am slowing my progress down if I don't build my business. I am always taking on new projects every single day, sometimes too many. yeah I probably could just limit myself to online business, but I want to be ranked up there with the most well known business people and marketers on the planet. and I know that takes time, but the more I do each day the faster I will get there. |

Guilty... staring at the screen, reading emails, visiting the WF, rifling through papers on my desk, etc. But when I work, I must say I put in a total of about 6-8 hours - several lengthy breaks to take care of personal things break up that time. During those 6 and sometimes 8 or 10 hours, I work on project creation, web site creation and management, developing new ideas, reading how-to products related to my business goals. And some of that time goes into marketing (I suck at marketing). It's amazing how quickly time flies - but I can see where you might be confused if you mean just Marketing. Do others mean just Marketing? Or are they including everything else as well? Most pros I've heard say they only put in a few hours a day to marketing. It's easy to see how it can take longer, though, if you consider one person doing it all - and hitting all the potential markets every time. So if they do social marketing, PPC, place ads, look for more places to market, prepare marketing materials, distribute them, contact people with lists and relevant sites to do JVs, set up those campaigns, do keyword research, constantly monitor and modify their marketing campaigns, study how the competition is doing things and come up with strategies to beat it... Yes, I can certainly see how all of that can take over 10 hours a day if they repeat this process every single day. However, if they are not making any money, then there is something drastically wrong... either with their product, their sales page, their marketing approach, or their concept of how much time they are actually working. ![]() Troy, I would presume that if you put in more hours, you could be making more money than you are now. $400 a day would be awesome! I will get there but being a mother of four young kids makes it a little more challenging. I put in about 10 hours a week in actual work in my IM business. That's as much as I can do right now because I do have family obligations and I work outside the home as well. Best wishes for those working on multi million dollar businesses! Adding even $200 a day would change my life. I will let you know when I get there! |

We have only been at it a short time and I sometimes spent 8-10 hrs in front of the screen but I am doing alot of learning watching webinars or training videos. I would count them as work because if you don't learn what to do you won't succeed.

Its not just running a business. I do consultancy work and therefore need to keep up to date with and network within the SEO/IM/Entrepreneur arena. But I choose what I do, how much and when, and that is the KEY. |

I work over 8 hours a day. I produce products and write all day long. I try to break it up into 2 hour segments with a 30 minute break in between. I believe in hard work and it pays off. Some days I work more some days i work less. It averages out. I believe in spending time with my family too and that pays off. I also try to work when they are asleep, but that makes me tired the next day. I finf it better to work normal hours and try to work an extra day if needed. Hope this helps. I also love my work and Business. Rick |

How long from the learning stages to them making that type of money working only a few hours a day? I can see once the business is established but not starting out.

Well, I think that it is not really about how much time you spend in front of the computer as long as what you are doing things that are contributing positively to your business. if you know that getting this done will bring a lot of dough to your bank account, you might even sleep infront of the computer until you get it done. Note: For those who work long hours every day, make sure you take a break every 30 minutes to prevent dry eyes and talk a walk every hour, so that you won't damage your posture. |

Yes I can tell you honestly that I have clients that built a complete business on a few hours a day working. I have one that went to college, had after school sports, and still built a business making $20,000+ a month on CPA alone and only took a few months. Trust me there are many business models that will allow you to only work a few hours a day and make huge amounts of money. It's called providing solutions to an already hungry crowd that does not require you to babysit your business. As for me I choose to work 16 - 18 hours a day, I do not have to do it at all.. I love what I do and thus why I work on my business.. James

Just kidding man.I don't believe that is normal by any stretch. I would bet he had experience in other portions of marketing on the internet. Please let me know because that is awesome for him to go from complete newb to making 20k a month working only a couple of hours a day.

The point is: everyone has different levels at which they define success. Some want millions, private jets, the works. Others, however, want a more relaxed approach, to be able to take themselves out to a movie (something I've done by myself many times) and not feel like they should be working, and always have cash for a beer. Still, others want a bit of both. For me, I want the freedom to have choice in my day (which I have). I want also to travel and show my wife places I've been and have a few adventures. I also want a toy or two: ![]() On the whole, if you are happy doing what you're doing, and can provide food, clothing and shelter, everything else is extra, and it is up to you to decide how much you want. Your dreams don't have to be acceptable to anyone, they have to be worthy of YOU, no more no less. So, if you're quite happy with $400 a day, great. If you want a million dollar company, go for it. No one will stand in judgement of you, ever, for you are designing your life as you go, which is more than many can say, |

| Your working how freakin long ? Hello Troy,
The line between "real work" and "just reading forums" can quickly disappear. On any one subject (i.e. Webmaster), the basics can be mastered pretty quickly, so to avoid "goofing off" I'm constantly pushing the limits of my abilities. For example: Does anyone here at WF understand this? Code: <rdf:RDF
xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
xmlns="http://schemas.uche.ogbuji.net/rdfexample/">
<rdf:Description about="http://uche.ogbuji.net/thisarticle">
<authored-by>
<rdf:Description ID="uche.ogbuji.net">
<name>Uche Ogbuji</name>
<nationality>American</nationality>
</rdf:Description>
</authored-by>
</rdf:Description>
</rdf:RDF> ![]() Hint: It's a matter of semantics. |

I do 16, 17 hour days every day. No joke. I would probably do 75% of that time actually working, the rest, youtube, forums, running my own sites. My eyes are suffering big time as a consequence. ![]() The way I see it -- put in the big hours now and take it easy later. I partied my 20's away and that led to nothing. I dont intend on repeating that same mistake in my 30's. |
