I'm rather surprised, because I think it looks pretty good. It apparently has absolutely none of the obvious things wrong with it that one half-expects to see when people ask this question!

So, I can't help wondering whether your opt-in rate is actually related to the traffic that's getting to the page, rather than to the page itself?

(You might put "A" in the heading so that it says "How To Travel On A Budget" rather than "How To Travel On Budget", and the same thing lower down so that it says "I'm offering a free e-book" rather than just "I'm offering free e-book" - but obviously I'm not suggesting at all that these changes would really improve your opt-in rate!).

I would cut down the text on the page..

Remove any need to scroll for people with smaller monitors/screens.

Reduce your opt-in boxes to one single box and one single piece of information required (e-mail only).

Move your one single optin box and call to action to the right hand side of the page. Midway down.

5 compelling bullet points down the left hand side.

Correct the spelling errors that Alexa pointed out above me.

Finally.. do some more research on your niche market. You clearly aren't associating with them as well as you should be.

Wording and phrases need to be changed to fit more in line with your target demographic.

Think of your customer, tell them that you will give them what they want on the page, but hold what they want behind the opt-in

Peace

Jay

p.s. All of the above is my opinion and you should really test different things.

I believe you should
1. change the background color..
2. Try to make the squeeze page simple and shorter.
Try to minimize the content and sentences

I just realize that I use the wrong bullet list for the page. That is terrible. I use an insurance list rather than traveling list. I copy paste the list and forgot to change it. I've change the optin form now. Looks better. Thanks

design issues aside...

besides the landing/optin page, the SOURCE and quality of the traffic is super important. Are you getting qualified leads and traffic? and getting targeted traffic from multiple sources?

questions:

1. Where and how are you getting your traffic?
2. Is this conversion rate the same across different traffic sources? e.g. ppc, seo, article marketing?
3. if you're doing ppc, are you tracking conversion by keywords and are the optin rates different by your keywords?

Some things that grab me right off the bat.

1. No compelling headline. You need a headline that grabs their attention, so they keep reading.

2. The text is left justified. It should be centered on the page.

Hope this helps.

You need a compelling headline ... something that makes me want to keep reading. The font you are using is small for the headline, "Yes, I want ..." I would beef up the size and change it to a question "Do you want to discover ..."

Use capitalization on every word in your headline except for words like a, the, of, etc.

the thing that jumps out at me: it seems HEAVILY feature-centric, and not benefits.

Now, I've had feature-centric work for me on squeeze pages, but it would be stuff like:
"learn how to travel europe on $100 a week"
"summer in paradise on a student budget"
and so on.. as is, your page is not saying much that is very exciting.

Yup, lack of a headline stands out big for me also.

I'd also recommend varying your calls to action and find other ways to say "free".

Also, I feel your bullet points could be improved quite a bit. For Example:

Tips for traveling on a budget =>
X Simple Tips To Travel Around The World On A Shoe-String Budget!

How planning your trip can save you money =>

Checklists and Other Money-related matters when traveling =>

Hopefully that helps!

Image doesn't look quite right, seems to be low quality

No headline

Not specific

No benefits

No idea what SMART travel goals are, and what they do for me (again, benefits. most people don't want to 'travel on a budget', they want to buy things they couldn't normally afford, etc.)

i think maybe separating your headline. or create another headline on top of the opt in box. or you can move the opt in to the side. using impact font can help for headlines

also you might what your bullets to be going after your 1st paragraph
and put your 2nd paragraph after your bullets.

arrows pointing to your opt in box will help

have something that calls them to take action. Telling them to "Sign Up Now"

Keep your messeges short as possible"

Example "I am offering a free ebook on how to travel on a budget"

to: "F-R-E-E how to Travel with Close to NO Money E-book!"

or : "Discover How to Travel on a Budget"

I hope this helps

Hi Goodmast3r:

I found 1 major thing missing.

And that's specificity

You may want to throw in some figures like ...save up to $350 or 46.5% in travelling expenses...

And also throw in some actual destination names like...Barcelona...Milan...Sydney
etc

Try adding in some images of the holiday destination mentioned...and test if they help in the conversion.

Good luck!
Jag

All that stuff does is distract the prospect.
