Default Client Wants to Use a Doctor Picture from Istock on his Salespage, Would that be Deceptive?

Hello,
My client is working on releasing a ebook in Health Niche. He plans to use a doctor picture from istockphoto just above the Add to Cart button and in the salespage there is no mention of that picture being him. Would this constitute deceptive marketing? I would like to seek clarification on this issue.

Thanks,
Dan

I'm guessing that by using a picture of a doctor, he's trying to convey that his product is endorsed by a doctor. If it's not endorsed by any doctor, I'd say that's deceptive.

It really depends.

I think it would be deceptive if you were trying to push his character off as a doctor. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure it will get you in trouble if you do that.

However, if you were to use a picture of a doctor or a nurse in the heading of your website as part of the design, I don't see how that would be a problem...

No, he is not passing himself as a doctor. Having said that he doesn't mention anywhere that the picture above the Order Button is not his. I guess it is safe just not to use such a picture.

Thanks

Why be fake .... ? Why not be real ?

I wrote an article on this on my forum as some marketer (not from WF) tried to get me to do something similar with my own picture.. Fact is I am real and I am who I am..

I think that it is deceptive. You are messing with people's health which is more important than money.
