Help, How Do I get Feedback On Product Without A List?

Hi Warriors,

I've recently created a product but I have no list. I'm trying to get testimonials on the product but finding it very hard to show the product to anyone without them thinking I'm spamming.

I don't have a list or any contacts that will be of help. Could you guys(and gals) give me some ideas of what has worked for you without having a list or contacts.

Also the product is not in the marketing niche. It's in the marriage market

Thanks in advance for your help

    Here's an idea for you.

Using your favorite search engine search for forums in your niche.

Visit the forums and establish yourself as a productive member.

Once you've gained some credibility and made some friends offer
a few free review copies of your info product and ask for reviews.

This should give you the feedback/testimonials you need.

    Good luck.

It just seem to me that there should be a better way. I mean there's nothing wrong with building trust BEFORE you ask someone to view your product. But what about if you want some feedback today or tomorrow?

does it not make more sense to be honest and say to the person right up front that you would like their opinion on something if they have the time to do so?

klinvie you could just throw it out there and ask. It really won't do much damage. But building the trust will give you more influence AND give you more of a Go To Guy/Gal status later on.

What you don't want to do is spam or be know as a spammer so think about how you will address your audience.

It might be easier to seek out a few sites on the subject and ask the owner to review it and offer a link back in return. Make it a win win for you both.

I had your problem a few weeks ago. What I did was go to a message board/forum that was about my niche, BUT one where the people would want to know what I was offering.

So dont just ask anywhere, try and ask in a forum category that specifically talks about what you offer them. Then just ask, say anyone that is interested reply or send me an email.

I did that, and I got about 10 people ask for one, I only got 3 people write back and tell me it was great, the rest didnt even bother, but it still gave me some.

One of my favorite ideas from a few sale copy books would be to create "case studies" instead of testimonials. You may want to think about adding in a few of these as you can create them yourself, and yes they can be made up.

People like to read a story, and it helps them to imagine using your product. Gives you better conversions.

Just tell it like a story, along the lines of what would happen if someone were to use your product or advice. Then when you do have some testimonials, just add them to your sales copy.

    Hope this helps.

I believe you can the testimonial by giving the product for review. To get people give honest testimonial I think you should be an active in the niche forum. Just use google to find your niche forum or perhaps you can ask any member from this forum to review your product

Give a few copies away. People love free stuff. You can also pay for reviews. Here is a list of paid review sites.

Yeah, it never hurts to just give a few copies away for review. Making a post offering up copies to say the first 10 that contact you isn't spammy at all and shows that you care enough to have your product checked before putting it live.

I've gone back and made major changes to products based on Warrior feedback.

This very forum has a JV section for just such a purpose.

Just be careful, there are people, even here who will ask for a "review copy"

just to get some free stuff.

No problem Klinvie, that's what we're all here for. The best way is to just start a thread asking for people to review your new product. You don't have to give away the farm and fully explain what it is, just say some thing like "I need a few Warriors to review my eBook product on traffic generation" or whatever.

Yes, you might get a few leaches that just want a free product, but don't worry about that too much. If they are just there to leach free stuff, chances are that they aren't real marketers anyway and they'd never buy anything from you anyway.

Besides, if giving away 10 copies of one of your products is going to put a major crunch on your sales, it's not much of a success anyway right?

Another thought....if you have no list, GIVE the product away to collect opt-in's. Yep...totally for f'ree. If the product is awesome and people love it, you'll get testimonials buy the bucket load and they'll want more of your stuff down the road (which you'll happily sell to them).

Either way, just get it out there man! Keep moving.
