200,000 You Tube Views, Going for A Million...

I have a video on YouTube that has gotten 200,000 views. So I have set a goal to get a million. I'm asking for your guidance.

Here is the back story:

About 2 years ago, I created a You Tube Video for my pizza niche. This was a simple step by step video on how to make pizza dough. Nothing flashy and very home-grown.

I thought I would get a couple of hundred views, at the most. I knew it might drive traffic to my website, so it really was a win win.

A few months later, I was surprised to get a couple of thousand. Then tens of thousands. At the end of the first year, the video had 50,000 views.

I was in shock, when I looked at the stats. But it continued to get more and more views. A year later, it now has nearly 200,000 views.

I have not ignored the video. I posted it on my pizza and related websites. I've mentioned it to my list a few times. But I really have not pushed it that much.

I mean its just a "How to Make Pizza Dough" video. Obviously a small niche. Or is it?

Since I've gotten 200,000 views without really trying, I thought I would try to crank up that number to a million views.

I've posted the link a few places. I have a squidoo lens. I've posted it in some forums.

Any advice from the Warriors?

Am I missing something? Are there other ways that I can push this video to the million view mark?

Any help, advice or insights on how I can reach my goal would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a couple of things you can do, if you have not done so already:

1) Post a video response to the most popular video in your pizza niche;

2) Choose the best still from 3 pictures given by youtube;

3) Make more related video's in the pizza niche and post them, the more people viewing your channel the greater your chance is to get this particular video viewed. Your video will also show up on the related video's tab of your other video's if you create alot and they are related;

4) Create backlinks for your keywords, (youtube has a blog

5) Contact blog owners and ask them to share your video

Also, views is nothing without a good ctr to your site - Add annotations at the end of the video pointing them to your site. Good luck!

You've got some good advice in the post above. I really can't add anything on how to go from 200k to a million, you're already 20% to your goal, so just keep doing what you are doing.

People are obviously searching for how to make pizza dough, and selecting your video, and most likely also referring this great video to others. Congrats!

Do a keyword research for the niche/topic in question
and find lots of good keywords that have "lots of daily/monthly
searches but not too many competing sites in the search
engines". Then get lots of backlinks using the keywords
found, linking back to the video in question. This should
help you get LOTS of free search engine traffic, directly
to the video.

FYI: I do have a number of pizza realted videos on Youtube. But your advice about getting back links is an excellent one.

I knew I could count on the Warriors to come through.

So I'm thinking: a million is just a 1 with six zeros in back of it. I am going to do this.

I want to be able to say: hey I'm the guy that has a million YouTube views with a pizza dough video.

When Google paid the huge amount it did for YouTube
back then, it became clear that video marketing would
get to where it has gotten today. But whether it will
eventually take over article marketing completely is
another debate entirely.

Keep it up and you'll be an authority in the Pizza industry. Its a long shot but hey it's the information age..he who rules with information is king.

With all the advice I can only add that you start tracking the statistics on your site to your advantage. Also make sure that all of your youtube videos have a watermark back to your site. You wouldn't want to waste all that traffic. Specially if its growing..

Contact ezine publishers about writing exclusive articles for them.

Because you are not offering the publishers a "cut" from a product launch, you might have to bribe them with a special report written "for their subscribers only".

Remember that there are ezines out there that have hundreds of thousands of subscribers with great conversion rates.

Congratulations on the views I searched 'how to make pizza dough' on Google and you are 5th on the front page. According to the keywords tool the term gets 12,100 searches per month - if you can get some high PR backlinks you can have that number one spot and get a healthy slice(pun intended ) of those searches every single day. You could quite easily get a couple of hundred organic hits from this every day, which will really help. The very best of luck and keep up the great work

I would say absolutely yes. The views have definitely helped. The video has definitely brought traffic to my website. And that has helped financially.

I have used it to continue to build my email list. I have also sold a number of my pizza related products as a result of this video. I have a pizza recipe book. I have pizza audio products that I have sold.

The video has been one strategy to market my website.

As far as being recognized in the pizza industry: prior to releasing the video, my website had gotten recognition as being an authority website. I have contact with a number of big names in the pizza industry.

But honestly, I'm still blown away that this simple video has gotten so many views. Amazing.

I upload a video about 6 months ago, and got only 350 view... :<

But i did find something useful from this post...
