If you were given $300 for marketing

Fellow Warriors, if you were suddenly given $300 for marketing. What would you spend it on why? Would you spend it on certain software(which one) for your promotions of a website, RSS feeds, link building, website building etc.. I was just given $300 by a relative, just because I am nice and I want to make maximum use of the money to promote a blog or website, and I would like input to stretch my marketing efforts. Any software, tools, link building you would use, anything you can think of, and why it would be helpful, thanks alot in advance.

p.s. This is all for the purpose of driving traffic to a website/blog.
When making recommendations, please give links or sources if possible.

I'd put the money into developing something that has increasing value as an asset such as a blog or website which can always be sold later on.

How about put the money in the bank for now and come up with a business plan/marketing plan.

It's difficult to say where or how the money would help you without knowing your business. Anyhow, $300 bucks won't get you much.

If you just want to start making money online and don't really have a plan here's one:
    1. Go signup for Clickbank
    2. Research hot topics by going to EzineArticles and looking up the most viewed articles.
    3. View those articles and get a feel for what's working.
    4. Find a Clickbank product in your niche. Usually the first ones in the CB marketplace for the keyword you entered. High gravity.
    5. Take 10 of your 300 dollars and buy a domain from godaddy or namecheap.
    6. Setup a redirect to the affiliate product you are promoting. (Alternatively you can save your 10 bucks and just setup a presale page using Squidoo or Hubpages).
    7. Write 30 or so articles with keywords related to the product you are promoting and link use your biobox to link to either (a.) the domain that you set the redirect up on or (b.) Your Squidoo lens or Hub page.
    8. Submit those to EzineArticles.
    9. Rewrite your articles and submit to GoArticles, Amazines etc...
    10. Setup high quality Squidoo and Hubpages and link to your offer.
    11. Create some press releases linking to your hubpages, lenses, etc...
    12. Create Wordpress and Blogger blogs
    13. Submit your blogs to .blogcatalog.com
    14. Use yahooanswers, answerbag and answerville.com to answer related questions and link to your articles and blogs
    15. Use Craigslist and Backpage.com
    16. Participate in related forums and use your signature to promote your blogs.
    17. Get Income from promoting affiliate products.
In a nutshell that will get you going so that instead of spending your $300 you can add to it and get something else going on.

Forget about spending your money and get to work. Nothing is going to help you like experience.

      Kimmer,

The answer to your question depends a lot on what type of website you are promoting, what niche its in, and what product(s), if any, it sells.

In some cases, PPC (i.e. Google Adwords) etc. works best while in other cases you would want perhaps banner advertising or link advertising on relevant sites which might better target your intended audience.

Whatever you do, DO NOT fall for and buy so-called "quality traffic" for your website and the like from questionable sources - remember that when something sounds too good to be true then it usually is.

All-in-all, I would say that the best use of your 300 coconuts is to bank it and draw from it as needed - little here, little there to help your efforts. It really is amazing what you can do with small investments in promotion.

Take care & I hope this helps....

I agree with this fellow here. Hold on to that cash for now but just spend 20-30 to get an autoresponder to collect email addresses to build a list. Most people love free stuff so maybe offer a free ebook.

You can find free PLR ebooks most anywhere, just type it into Google and add your niche. There you have it. Now go forth and conquer. :-)

    Hi,

Based on Your Question that I was "Given" the money, in other words it just came to me to "try" something, I would outsource $300 worth of articles and give article marketing a shot. There is certainly enough evidence on this forum that $300 worth of articles would be a good test. I figure I could get about 60 decent articles.

      I'm shocked.

No one here mentioned anything about building your list?

Well, you should. It's your one true assest, above anything else.

The other methods here are great, and they work, but if your going
to drive any traffic, please trust that you want a list being built along
      the way.

With that said, george's article outsource method is perfect, just
direct the traffic to your squeeze page and you will be kicking ass.

      Live long and prosperous

Probably use 10 pounds to get a website, 20 pounds to setup an Aweber autoresponder account. Then use the rest for outsourcing for traffic to build your list.

You could write an ebook or report, and then outsource some SEO to get it ranked well, after which you would make 100% profits.

2nd option is I would just put it all on red or black.

I made this suggestion before to someone when they asked a similar question. You could spend half of it on a website that is already making money that someone is currently selling.

You could probably pick up a site that is making $15-$30 per month for $150.

Once you buy the site, use the other $150 for:

    Article writing
    Social Bookmarking
    Directory Submission
    Linkwheel

Or, as someone else said get SENUKE that does all the above (Except article writing though it will spin articles) and do all the above yourself.

Why take a gamble on a site that MIGHT make money when you can buy a site that someone already put some work into and got some traffic to that already is making money.

    Hey kimmer551,

I'd bank that, and try what Doug Hughes suggests. He gave you a great plan that does work, and will help you add to that $300 you have now - quickly too.

    Doug Hughes -

Good solid info Doug that will get anyone making money with little to no starting capital.

I would, personally, outsource articles and outsource backlinking to these articles with Angela's / PJ's packets.

Articles: You should pay 10-15 bucks depending on length to get something of quality. Post to your blog yourself first, then to EZA and other sites. Backlink to the EZA article to get it ranked in Google quite high. Enjoy traffic through clickthru.

You should be able to outsource 80 backlinks of Angela/PJ on Elance for $50. That's what I was paying until I gave the guy a raise to keep him interested.

With 300 bucks you can outsource 15 articles, and probably 2 months of backlinking to these articles, with 80 links (x2) split between your articles somewhat.

I would also get a copy of Articlebot, and outsource someone to sign you up to 200 plus article directories, and use Articlebot to automatically submit your articles to these sites. Cost of sofware not more than 30 bucks? I can't remember, but it is cheap and very good for the money.
