Many people think this because of forced continuity products.
what is your take on this?

Yeah, we are worthless animals preying on the innocent. No doubt.

forced ....Seems that IMers get a bad rep for it but magazine publishers and newspapers have been doing this for years.

But people don't hate the publishers or think they are "sneaky"

I don't know about the rest of you but I regularly feast on little kitties, I go out of my way to kick over recycling bins, and every Xmas I disguise myself as Santa in order to give away little lumps of coal to children under 10. The kitties are real tasty with Dijon Mustard btw.

So, yep, I think most of us live within the moral confines of small, angry rodents.

Seriously though, the disdain felt for us marketers exists from a combination of that age-old myth that says "everything on the internet is a scam", and the few unscrupulous asshats that pimp ****-berry scams and the like.

It sucks, but at the same time it is constantly being dis-proven by good marketers (warriors) providing quality products and informative content.

the term "marketers" could probably be applied to 50-60% of the world's population I guess, we are all engaged in marketing products in on way or another, either directly or via our employers, so i'm cool with it, I'm in the majority
The rest of the population are either too young, or too poor to be "marketers" but sooner or later....

It's a stereotype that's hard to shake... you know, the greasy-looking used car salesman in the cheap suit, fake smile and selfish intentions. People conjure this image in their heads every time someone talks about selling something.

I, myself, had a very hard time with this stigma when I joined a network marketing group years ago. It took many years of listening to Zig for me to realize that I had brainwashed myself into thinking that I was a bad person for wanting to sell.

    Ahhhh, life lessons.

Honestly, I've never heard of anyone outside the IM niche who called IMers as low life. Infact this is the only place I hear people say that IMers are low life..and guess what we're all IMers here

Most of the time, when I tell people that I do IM they would get interested and would ask me for a short explanation of how I do it. I'm in the Philippines and I guess that some tv shows here that featured some people making it big online helped with this perception..I'm not sure if its the same with other countries though.

Oh and one more thing..Most Internet marketers are the hardest working people I know, some work more than 24 hours straight when they are about to release a product.

Another thing, Internet marketers are also intuitive and funny.
