Default EzineArticles - How Do They Flag Dupe Content?

Ok, I posted this question earlier in the SEO section, but figured it could help out more people in the main section here.

A fellow Warrior pointed out that: EZA does not own your copyright and you can put your same article where you want. EZA only wants to be certain YOU are the author.

Ok, I've always known this was the case, BUT....

My question is, how EXACTLY does EZA go about making sure you are the author? I'd like to just start submitting my blog posts/articles to ezine without rewriting them at all(obviously strictly for backlink purposes), but what exactly happens during their editorial review process in cases like this?

I am assuming your content gets flagged for dupe, so do they then delay your submission at all in order to figure things out? Do they analyze your domain registration info, etc? I've always been curious about this.....

Who has had experiences related to this?

They want to be sure that the NAME on the article/website/blog/etc
is the same as that on the article submitted to them. Alternatively, if
there's no name on the article/website/blog/etc but you link to it in
the article you submit to them, they don't question that it's yours.

I don't think they check the domain registration because I have sites
where the domain details are different from the details of the
EzineArticles account I use for the articles submission, and the
articles were accepted, even though duplicate copies of the articles
already exist on the sites in question. I guess because I link back
to the sites in question, they used that to conclude it's the
SAME person.

That's what I have found, in my experience with them.
