Any Clickbank "Reverse Engineers" here?

Hi Warriors,

I want to be an affiliate for a certain product
on Clickbank. But I can't for the life of me find
the affiliate signup page or the affiliate link.

I don't even know how much it pays out - but
I want to promote the darn thing anyway.

Any idea how I can get the hoplink for it? Or can
I just plop the ?hop=(affiliate account) and get
it to work just as well?

I tried adjusting the traditional
affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net link but it ended
up on another of his products instead.

Anyone? Many thanks~

Asher

It sounds like he's using a script to handle multiple Clickbank products.

The easiest way is to email him and ask him if you can promote his product - that way he can give you the correct link!

You can't find it by searching for the product title in the marketplace? That usually does the trick. If that doesn't work out, you could try doing a Google search for the same thing. For instance, you could Google for:

    site:clickbank.com product name

That will show you every page on ClickBank that Google knows about.

just adding the "hop=" will not work..

It looks like the person is has chosen not post this product in the marketplace. usually there's a reason for this...

There's ways to figure this one out, but it sounds to me like the person does not want strangers promoting the product, so I don't think it would be cool to show you how. And if they are one of the beta testers for CB's white list program, you are out of luck anyways.

Whatever the "vendor" is from the link you provided earlier type this in to Clickbank instead. It'll bring up all their products. If you really can promote their product you'll be able to find the correctlink this way.

Thanks Sam - doubt that he'll answer his
email. He happens to be in one of those
      'guru' categories. =O

No, it's not in the marketplace. But he's
definitely using ClickBank to do the payment
      processing.

The Google trick didn't work though, but thanks
      anyway =)

His product has been around for a long time.
The way I know he promotes his site is via
ad swaps and joint ventures. So there's definitely
a link available - I just don't know where it is.

Yeah, I tried that... nothing but his main product
      came up.

Thanks for all the help - looks like the best way or
chance I can be an affiliate for this is to send him
      an email (wish me luck).

    Hi Asher,

If you're worried they may not respond because they're too "guruish", then what I'd suggest is make the email short, but solid. Tell them you're interested in promoting their product, and give a quick description of how you're planning on promoting it.

I don't carry a guru banner, but I know when people approach me about promoting one of my products, the ones that stand out are the short, professional ones that give a brief description on the campaign they're planning on launching.

Try not to make it sound like a sales pitch.

My method is just try and imagine you're talking to them on the golf course:

"Nice putt, by the way, do you mind if I promote your product? I've got a blog related to your niche, and it gets some decent daily traffic, and I'd like to do a quick post about it. And my oh my, where did you buy those silk slacks? They're just delightful!"

Okay, maybe not the last two lines, but you probably get the drift.

    Just my two cents!

    cheers
    Sam
