Yes offcourse it's beneficial as with most social sites. Problem is, most people simply spam twitter.

Twitter is about building real relationships.
Simply tweeting isn't going to get you anywhere.

You need to get the folks to come into contact with your business every time they decide to visit a link from your tweet.

You can accomplish this by creating a blog, updating content there and then tweeting about it. That way, you'll drive repeat visits to your blog/website which will increase your exposure which will lead to more subscribers or customers.

Regards,
Reinhardt

I am always shocked at how one tweet can get me 3-5 blog comments and a few sales.

I tweet all my WSO's and my followers come in and buy then tweet me testimonials. I have also picked up several 5 figure offline clients with Twitter

Twitter is tricky.

There are several ways to use it.

Some people feel that you can just use it to get as many followers and
post as many of your affiliate links as you can.

I personally don't like doing that.

The most benefit I've personally gained from Twitter was all of the positive
things people have said to me that I can use as testimonials in the future.

(I take screenshots of them all)

If somebody goes out of their way to @ reply you with a compliment, 9 times
out of 10 it will be genuine.

But the only reason this happens at all is because I'm not annoying posting
affiliate links with every tweet.

So try to be helpful more than anything.

Twitter is like any other media.

If you provide value, you will be rewarded.

I'd get into it more, but Mrs. Dinner is rushing me because
my 3 year old daughter needs a ride to school by daddy

Twitter is a powerful tool in making relationships and building your business. There are also tools available to make Twitter usage even easier, such as TweetDeck.com. Tweetdeck will allow you to communicate with others more rapidly. Twitbacks.com will allow you to create a more professional background containing your business information. There is also socialoomph.com which will allow you to do some auto-posting. Setup an auto post to follow people back when they follow you, inviting them to meet up on FaceBook so you can do more serious Networking.

Agreed, I try to provide value in everything I do. I also work very hard to not spam my followers. I only send out a handful of offers (usually my own).

It's important to ask questions and interact with your following.

I have just over 4,000 followers on Twitter. I find that a single Tweet gets me anywhere from 25-30 hits to the link I provide. And I'll convert 0-1 out of those generally.

So overall, I'd say it's pretty beneficial. Especially since I use a software that sends out my Tweets for me and builds my following so it really takes no work.

The most important thing is just making sure you provide value, don't spam, and don't send useless Tweets.

Hi guys

i find twitter very benefical to my business and have seen blogs grow from nothing and lots of traffic and sales so it is very worthwhile for me.

Many though fail to put in the effort into it or just dont get it and this is why many fail on twitter.

kind regards

Not that I am calling you a spammer because I don't know what software you are using,
but how can you say you don't spam when you are using software to build your following?

It really depends on how you use twitter but for me personally I'm still in the 'learning curve' and am hoping to build as many relationships as I can because Networking is all about relationships.

David/Jason,

All the software does is send out Tweets that I pre-write on a schedule. I never send more than 2 per day. And they are always Tweets that provide value and engage my followers into discussion. I change up the messages regularly as well. The people that I believe are spammers are the ones that send 20 Tweets per day that all say the exact same thing with an affiliate link and never provide any value. Also I get @ messages all the time from people I'm not following. I never do that.

How is what I'm doing any different than someone who uses AWeber to send pre-written emails to their list?
