Default Microsoft Frontpage Question...

Every time I put html code in the html section of Microsoft Frontpage and then when I go to preview, it only shows the html code. Is it supposed to show the text and everything else that is in the code. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I would advice you launch the frontpage again then try and put your text within the body contest and dont try to edit the preloaded html codes there. Also when you input your text make sure you close all open tags.

This will work for you.
I care.

check your html tags, maybe something is missing from them, maybe some tag is still open and it needs to be closed with its end tag.

Look at it in your browser to be sure it's not just FrontPage misinterpreting.

Cheers,

I appreciate the help guys, but I think the problem is that the version I have is from 2001. I am going to need the latest version.

Frontpage was discontinued by MS a long time ago. There are no updated versions. I still use it occasionally and it works fine. You must be doing something wrong on your end. It shouldn't be the version.

Try some other HTML code.

Your FrontPage 2001 should still be working just fine.

When you past in your code, are you working on the "Design" page or the "Code" page? Look at the bottom of your screen and be sure you're on the "Code" setting before you past in your html code. Paste your code there, then go to "Design" or "Preview" to see how it looks. If you don't know where to paste it when you're on the "Code" page, go to "Design" and put your curser where you want your code to go. Then, without moving your curser, open the "code" mode and paste your code where you see the curser.

If that's not your problem, perhaps there's something wrong with the html you're trying to paste. It doesn't take much!

Thanks for the help everyone. But it is still not working. I guess it is corrupt. I know I am adding the code in the html section. When I go to preview it still shows me the html code.

You propably write the html code in the design section not the code section which is supposed to write your html code in.this the only reason for what is going with you. By default front page open in design section wich is wswg, u need to switch to code section to edit your html code, or u can choose split mode to review both design and code
