I've talked to lots of people lately about HOW they search for things on Google. - Students, Teachers, Researchers and even the average Joe -
They tell me they don't use "quotes in search phrases" anymore. They say; "Google has gotten better at search" , so they don't bother... Am I missing something? Should I still focus on longtail keywords? |

The use of 'quotes' tells you how much competition there is for a phrase, without 'quotes' will tell you strength of competition. So few AND weak competitors will give you an indication of how easily you can rank for a long tail phrase.

The opposite - They're not using quotes, but that doesn't mean Google doesn't care.
The reason Google is getting better is because it does care. You should still focus on long tail phrases if people are searching with them (even without quotes). Andy |

Quotes tells Big "G" that you are looking for the exact phrase.
