The Secrets to Finding a Hot Niche Market Online

Finding a hungry market is is one of the most important parts of starting
an online business. That's why I've written this guide to show you how
to uncover hot, hungry markets who are looking to whip out their credit
cards.

After reading this guide, you should never have an issue finding a niche
again.

We're going to start our search at magazines.com. If there is a magazine published around a certain topic, you can almost guarantee that it's a profitable market.

Here are just a few hot markets I found while surfing around magazines.com...

Weight Loss
Pregnancy
Baby
Tropical Fish
Weddings
Bodybuilding

Another place you can look for hungry markets is at a site called 43Things.
We're going to be looking at this page in particular...
Today's most popular goals on 43 Things

This is a list of people's most popular goals... and it's a goldmine of information to marketers. This site not only reveals some very hungry markets, it also reveals the thoughts, dreams, and aspirations of your target market.

Here are some of the goals I found while on the site...

Fall in love
Get married
Lose Weight
Learn French
Get a Job
Learn to play the Piano
Learn Spanish
Learn to play the guitar
Quit Smoking

Do you think those would be some good markets? You Bet!

Another great place to do market research is at a site called CBtopsites.
They rank all of the Clickbank products by popularity. Simply browse through the top 100 products and you'll find some of the hottest markets on the Internet.

The key to success in internet marketing is to sell what's already selling.

You can find out what's selling at...
Shopping.com - Find, Compare, and Buy Anything in Seconds

This is the Shopping.com Consumer Demand Index. This data is compiled directly from the millions of shopping searches conducted on Shopping.com each week. This is an excellent source for uncovering emerging trends, hidden gems, and tapping into existing demand.

Once you're at Shopping.com - Find, Compare, and Buy Anything in Seconds , you'll see a list of categories. You can then click on the categories to view the top 100 searches within each category. Golden!

Our final market discovery technique uses what's called discovery keywords.

This includes the following phrases:

How to
How to get rid of
How to fix
How do I
How to Remove
How do you
Learn
Remedy
Purchase
Buy
How to Remove
Cure
Eliminate
Restore
How to prevent
How to quit

There are more, but these will give you a good start.

Here's what you do with these discovery keyword phrases...

First, you need to open up the Google Keywords Tool.

Put one of the discovery keyword phrases into the search box. Make sure that the "Use Synonyms" box is uncheked. You'll find this box directly underneath the search box.

You're going to uncheck this box because you want to find results
with your exact phrase included.

Once you've done this, go ahead and press the button that says,
"Get keyword ideas".

Browse through the results and I bet you'll find a ton of hot markets.

I put in the phrase "how to remove" and here are some of the
markets I uncovered...

How to remove adware
How to remove spyware
How to remove malware

Using discovery keyword phrases is an excellent way to find the type of markets that are desperate for a solution.

Keep in mind that the two most-valuable types of visitors to you are those that are specifically researching a certain product or people that are desperate to fix a problem they have.

As long as we understand that these are not niche markets -- these are markets. Some are very broad markets.

A niche would be something like Weight Loss For Teenage Girls.

The whole idea of a niche is that it is a smaller segment of a market, allowing you a chance to market to a very targeted market and be more successful with your marketing.

    Great Post!

To think I have never even used that final technique before. In true warrior forum fashion a gem in every post.

    Thanks Kim

Thanks for the great tips. Like others have mentioned, try to find those "micro" niches within these topic areas and you'll find a real winner...

    Important point here.

Depending on what you want to do with the niche it may or may not be viable online.

As an example, you listed playing guitar. There was a discussion on here a little while ago about that niche. Some people have KILLER sales pages but the niche converts at a very low rate (as in if you hit 1% you're a God) and the trafifc isn't exactly huge either.

Like everything else, it depends on the habits of your specific niche. Spending a few bucks on a magazine is different to spending $20 on an ebook, particularly when you need to pull out your credit card and so forth.

Some niches don't look online. Some don't spend online. Some don't own credit cards. Some are impulse buyers.

There's always going to be exceptions, but let's keep this stuff in mind.

I've always found my markets in either my own unmet needs, or looking at keywords people use to find my sites where I'm not providing the answer to what they searched, or comments left on my blog.
