Computer Affiliate Products...do they make money?

Was wondering if computer type affiliates actually turn a profit since most people in the computer world are keen to affiliates will just go straight to the source.

Has anyone in that field ever really turned a profit?

You are referring to the promotion of PC's as an affiliate?

It's very difficult and competitive that's all I can tell you.
All the major online authorities already have their share of most of the traffic sources.

I'd suggest you move in another direction if that is what you where thinking of doing.

You can make money as an affiliate with any product which sells in large numbers online.
Computing sales are pretty large on the web. The key to making money is scale, the commission levels on physical products peripherals etc are quite low so you have to have your offer available of a large scale and in the right places, if you can do this, you will make money.

I suggest that if you want to target PCs then you need to build a hub where you can provide solid tips like how to optimize pc, how to build pcs or anything like that and then funnel traffic.

That's how I do it.
