Options for people under 18?

Hey guys, I've been lurking around casually, absorbing IM information here and there and a few days ago I thought I'd actually do something and check this whole thing out. The only problem is, I'm a couple of years shy of 18.

I'd like to join an affiliate program, I e-mailed clickbank, but they said I have to be over 18.

I'm just posting to ask what people under 18 do in terms of IM and whether they get their parents involved, etc.

Thanks,

You should ask Jason Cox this question.

He was setting up joint ventures between major players in the internet marketing world when he was a pimply 16 year old.

Ultimately if you're serious you'll find a way.

Letting your parents know what you're doing and explaining it so they understand the risks and lack of risks is always a good idea.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh

Unfortunately, you're going to have to involve your parents if you're serious about going at this. The problem is simple: You aren't considered old enough to sign a contract with anyone until you are 18.

Talk to them, and see what answer they give you.

Simply just use your parents name.. Its easier to get things set up.. Use your parents name to sign up for cb.. after you earn something in your account.. like few hundred bucks.. tell them that you need their social or whatever in aus.

Addition to dov... its actually hard to learn without actually doing it... You will forget real fast if you just keep watching, reading or listening more and more course

I'm 15 right now... started IM when I was 13. It's very easy. Just ask your parents. That's how I got started. I was lucky that both my parents were 100% behind my back supporting me to do IM, so it wasn't a problem trying to explain it to them that I wasn't doing drugs

As I grew bigger, I asked my parent to incorporate a company in my name, so my company is called Stanley Tang Limited, and I always use that when I sign up for things which require over 18.

          Hi Stanley,

When I see this thread, my gut sense tells me you are going to say something. :p

So how is your new book coming along?

          Cheers,
          John

Yep, that's exactly right. The parents of someone under the age of 18 can negate a contract signed by their child at any time. That's the law in the U.S; and Clickbank operates in the United States. Getting your parents involved is a good idea.

I'm 17 years old and I'm waiting till I'm 18 to really start IM.
But I'm spending lots of time learning with a online course.
If you want to wait you could use the few years to learn, you don't have to be 18 to sign up to take a course on IM, you may also want to start writing content, making videos etc.
But I think that if you really want to start now you will figure something out.
    Good luck!

You don't need to be 18. If you're having trouble opening a Paypal account, just go buy one of those pre-paid credit cards.
