Default Host Gator 20% off.. Is it Worth the hype?? Or Over Hyped??

Hello everyone, Ive been doing some researching on hosting companies, it seems that most people swear by host gator.. Saying things like "there the best by far" "There customer service is the absolute best" "they are the most reliable hosting company" Is Host Gator really that great or are people being paid to promote them.. If all is true I am going to jump on this 20% off offer for the fall season on there home page..

Thank you everyone!

Thank you everyone!
Personally from my experience, they are every bit worth the hype! You wont find anybody being paid to promote them on Warrior Forums, unless they send you a pm and ask you to click on their affiliate link.. But that's beside the point almost every hosting company has an affiliate program.
Host Gator has built its reputation off of reliability and service, all the comments and positive reviews you hear about the company are all true.

I'd say go for it, especially with that 20% off deal thats going on.

Why do most fail? Because they give up!

Hello,
I would suggest that you get the Hostagator reseller account, you can host multiple domains with that type of account.
They have very good support, most problems can be solved thru the online chat system.
Good luck.

HostGator has done quite well for me. I have a regular account and a reseller account with them.

One thing to keep in mind is that their business model is primarily large scale shared hosting. Once you get out of the shared hosting environment there may be better choices out there for dedicated hosting or co-location although HostGator's prices are still quite good.

Most recommended: HostGator

Customer support very good and fast. (24 hours chat online)

They also understand internet marketer's business. When someone complain about spamming issue, they will work with us to find out the real issue. Sometimes our affiliate spam other people and our website get complain. Luckily HostGator support understand this without just blame on us like the Godaddy company.

If you have hosted your domain with Godaddy, I suggest you transfer them to namecheap or other company. My friends and I have a horrible experience with Godaddy. One spam complain email will cost you $75 for Godaddy admin fee.

Someone use web form to send out the promotion to my website and Godaddy send me the complain. I told them that I didn't sent that email and I have banned that affiliate after I received their complain. But Godaddy staff still ask to pay $75 for the admin fee to clear the complain. =.='

Go with HostGator. I have several accounts with them and I always recommend my friends and customers to use HostGator. If you have any questions or problems, just go to their 24 hours online chat to get help.

We'll my mind is set, I'm going with Host Gator! Thank you all! I think I'll sign up with the baby plan for starters. I want to have a website that has at least 2k unique hits within the first year, think this plan will be sufficient for that?

I just signed up a few days ago and there great, i got the baby plan too and they have a lot of useful add-ons for your website. I see no reason why you couldn't get 2,000 hits in a year, I'd think you could do it in a lot less time then that

Just get the baby plan and you will be set. I have it and I have dozens of sites taking up about 10 GIGS with all of the products and never had a problem in at least 3 years. With the baby plan you get Unlimited Space, Unlimited Bandwidth and Unlimited domains. 3 things you will need.

You made the right decision. HostGator is by far the best. I've convinced many people to switch to HostGator and none have regretted it. You get unlimited bandwidth, disk space, etc with this plan. You won't have any issues with 2k+ hits.

By the way - their 20% off special right now is great. But you can search for "hostgator coupon codes" any time and get 20% off or better. But even without the discount, it's well worth the low price. Happy HostGatoring.

You can also type in Hostgator's url then add a "/" and a jumble of characters and that will take you to a 404 page coupon for your first month for 1 cent.

Hostgator is hosting more than a million websites.. There must be a reason why they are so popular.. I have used GoDaddy and Hostgator and from my experience I can vouch for Hostgator... I bought a website that used .htaccess and tried to host it on GoDaddy.. the site didn't work at all.. Finally hosted it on Hostgator without any issues..

As Joshua has mentioned, you can get the first month hoisting only for 1 cent.. Try it and cancel it if you don't like..

Cheers,

HG has nice reseller servers ... Dual quad-core xenon and 16 gigs of ram.

Down time is next to nothing, and service is great.

Some of my sites outgrew my first account, but it took a while and I still use the same account for my newest sites - worth every penny.

Be careful about the unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth. You get a lot but its not unlimited.
