Who's coming to Raleigh? Who's joining me for a drink or three?

It's less than 2 weeks until the 2nd Annual Warrior Networking Event in Raleigh, NC. I know some of the Warriors that are coming, and I'm looking forward to a great weekend with them. I arrive Friday afternoon at 3:50, so should be ready to party by 5. Who else is going to be there?

I beg to differ. Put a pot of coffee in front of you and the word "guzzling" doesn't do justice to what you'll subject the brown brew to.

Elmer, Don't feel bad buddy, at our favorite restaurant, our favorite waitres wishes she had an IV bag and a needle to keep my husband's coffee cup filled! She says he keeps her running more than the dinner rush hour LOL!
What puzzles me though, is that he still falls asleep before bedtime on the couch or in his lazyboy recliner?

As an avid coffee drinker, maybe you could answer my question, can you become immune to coffee just like antibiotics?

I should come out for this but the book deal has me traveling too much lately. Just got back in town and now I'm off to Vegas on Thursday, then back to Florida on Nov 4 & 5 to do home shopping network again.

I'm thinking about going now that I know you'll be there Kevin. I had a great time with Warriors at Willie's event. Pencil me in for a "maybe."

I really need to start speaking at some of these events but I don't really have anything IM related to sell right now.

      Ron,

I've had the pleasure to attend three live events this year. Granted they were IM focused but much of what was talked about was just plain common sense.

Some topics were PR related and a couple speakers presented on methods to move from online to offline physical publication.

Regardless of topic most of the information is usable in virtually any business environment.

The networking and socialization is a major plus. (I met my business partner at a small local Warrior meeting a year and a half ago)

Possibly you and Kevin could collaborate on "The Gourmet's Guide to Properly Preparing and Pressure-Cooking Hamsters"

      Elmer

PS. Don, we can divide the room. I'll shoot the ladies and you shoot the guys.

    Ron,

Kevin is dragging a few folks over to the Barnes and Nobles across from the Hotel so maybe you can do an impromptu book signing as well - and make the trip tax deductible ;-) - or at least try.

I bounced that off my accountant when my wife and I went to Hawaii one year on my royalties - but I had to find the one honest accountant in Raleigh though and he talked me out of it. We couldn't figure out how to equate a trip to Maui with research for computer books - and be able to look at an IRS auditor with a straight face.

hope to see you there and anyone else as well!

Oh - sorry Kevin - but Elmer has already appropriate the badge name Kevin Riley (without quotes). I can't repeat what he suggested I put on your badge since NC does have laws about hamsters....

    I'd love to go.

There are a few details I'll have to work out, but I may be able to make it.

    Main concern is travel.

It sounds silly, but I have a fear of flying, so I will have to drive.

Does anyone know of anyone between Wisconsin and North Carolina that would be willing to share some driving?

    We can figure something out.

Elmer, no decaf allowed during the weekend, so sorry you'll have to drink the real stuff.

Man, it seems like yesterday I was bugging you for a free ticket to attend your seminar in Dallas Puddy. My first ever one...

That was a big (BIG) turning point for me. Everything changed from that point forward.

Basically, if you want to know the truth, I said to myself "If this old Britt can do this stuff, I can certainly do this stuff too". hahaha!

      Just kidding man

Seriously though, offline events are pure gold. To think that just "one weekend" at an IM event can completely change your entire life is hard to comprehend until you attend one yourself and see for yourself.

And - what better one to attend than a WARRIOR event??

Knock 'em dead Jack, Kevin, Bev, etc. and have a great time!

I know there will be other girls there (speakers - Hi Bev, can't wait!), but am I the only girl attending so far??? Oh to have such problems....

I'm coming from Columbus, Ohio and it turns out I am flying after all. I am EXTREMELY nervous (nearly had a panic attack pushing the "pay" button) as I haven't flown in over 9 years. I don't like flying. I don't like flying. Did I mention I don't like flying??

Anyway, bringing camera and laptop. For those staying at the Marriott, the hotel charges $12.50 per day for internet access AND it is NOT wireless so bring a USB and ethernet plug.

If you bring your phone, don't forget to bring a charger.

If you smoke, the hotel is smoke free so someone will have to point out the smoking area to me as my dumb butt started smoking again last month.

For those flying in and looking for a ride to the hotel, they provide free shuttle to and from the airport. You just have to call the main hotel number when you land and they will tell you where to go to catch the next shuttle.

My flight arrives around noonish so plenty of time for a nap and freshen up time. Kevin, if I had a straight through flight, it is only an hour and 15 minutes. Wouldn't that be lovely? I'm so glad you all can do that. yikes.

      Robin,

I excel at locating smoking areas. If all else fails there are the boy's and girl's rooms.

To locate a smoking area all you have to do is follow one of the two fastest moving groups leaving the room at the end of a presentation. the group appearing to turn back into the hotel are looking for comfort facilities. The group heading to the great outdoors has located the designated smoking area. Many great, informative conversations happen there. Some non-smokers have been known to hang out with us smokers just for the conversation.

Does anyone besides me think that $12.95 a day for internet access, outragous? C'mon at the prices they charge for their rooms, they have to insult us by charging a outrageous access charge? Maybe I need to bring a 20 port hub to my room and invite everyone to my room to connect?

Not a day trip but definitely not a bad drive. My kids like to look for the big butt near Gaffney - ie the big peach water tower - on 85.

Jack, I also have family in Ashville and I go to Hendersonville a good bit.
I was in Highlands and Cashiers not long ago. It seems that a lot of celebs

If any of you folks wish to Tweet about the WF Raleigh Event I've set up a hash tag, "#wfral".

Hang it onto the back end of your tweets and the folks unable to make it can live vicariously through those of us that are attending. You may also place it in the body of a tweet. (Are tweets long enough to, actually, have a body?)

You can tweet such interesting things as,

"Yes, Bev does have a funny accent #wfral

            or,

I'm at #wfral. Riley is talking, and talking, and talking...

            or,

Elmer is one good looking guy, smart, too. #wfral

            or, alternatively,

Hurlstone actually looks like his avatar, bless his heart* #wfral

*"bless his heart" is a Southern American expression meaning anything from, in this case, "poor fellow" to "dumber than owl poop". It's used frequently to take a bit of edge off a serious insult. Often by "little old ladies who wouldn't say "poop" if they had a mouthful.

Please pass the hash tag around.

            Thanks,

lmao @ bless his/her heart. This is definitely a southern thing. A friend of mine (who also spent some time in the south) used to joke that you could say anything about anyone and get away with it as long as you added "bless his/her heart" to the end. The 100% yankees never got it.

    Hello fellow attendees,

I'm realy looking forward to meeting everyone. I've got a room at the raleigh-marriott-crabtree-valley. Please introduce yourself to me. I'm looking for people and products to feature on my new web TV show, webinars and teleseminars. And, if you have a JV idea, let's talk. At the event, I'll be introducing my new site where you can get some free advertising & publicity. Also, I'll have some free stuff and a special WSO that attendees can get before anyone else (very limited pre-launch availabilty... I'm hoping to sell out at the event). Attendees can be among the first "super affiliates" to offer my new service when it's released to the general public... providing a valuable head-start, higher commission rate (recurring) and more. Look for my free "Dilbert" packet at the event for details. I can't wait to hear the speakers and see the other WSO's. This is going to be fun!

    See you soon...

    Rich,

I need to check on this with the meetings coordinator at the Hotel. My notes have free wireless but those are from talking with the corporate office way back in May and not the local hotel.

Just to be safe I ordered an extra internet drop for the conference room and will tie it into my wireless router so folks will have wireless access during the conference. Since I'm basically a tea tottler too I figure a coke or pepsi will be my price for the password - My wife loves chocolate as well hint hint. ;-)

I also got the cocktail party on Friday setup today - with some light finger food since I figure folks will want to go eat Friday night - and a cash bar. The mall and restaurants are within staggering distance. Registration will start at 5pm in the lobby so come get your badge & if you qualify your t-shirt, then settle in and head to the restaurant. The cocktail meet and greet starts at 6 in the hotel restaurant.

If you take a taxi or rental to the hotel please stay off Wade Avenue - the State Fair is going on and it'll be a parking lot otherwise. Just Google U2, Raleigh, parking to see how bad it can be. Take US 70 from the airport and it will lead you straight to the hotel. The meetings coordinator has alerted the front desk to expect extra requests for the shuttle from/to the airport as well.

As part of your registration fee we'll have a working lunch buffet on Saturday.

Then depending on when Kevin stops talking on Sunday we can go off site for lunch or eat in the Hotel's restaurant. This is a networking event so please don't be shy and mingle!

IF there's anything else I can do to help out just let me know!

I'm really getting excited to meet everyone and continuing the tradition Eric started last year. Of course we need to come up with a consistant name for the event, a logo, and some other traditions to go with this - that way we can look back on the 10th anniversary and say "Remember when...."

Apologies to everyone - but unfortunately the in room rate is correct. There is free wifi in the lobby - which is what I must have mistaken for free internet. I really couldn't negotiate on this item. Sorry.

I'm paying for a second internet drop in the conference room to which I'm going to place a wireless router so folks can have access there.

It's been a long time since I've traveled and am blown away at all the nickle and diming going on. From the airlines, ground transportation, hotels and everything in between. And then there's the TSA rules.

                  Kevin,

I realize you have difficulty with anything not equally divisible by 10.

For your edification and potential comfort:

10 Day Weather Forecast for Raleigh, NC (27601) - weather.com

If you'll click the above listed Weather Channel link directly above toward the right end of the "Forecast Conditions" bar you'll have the option to select the measurement scale that makes sense to you.

Should you require additional cultural or translation (Southern American is my first language; standard AmEnglish my second) expertise you know how to reach me.

Why does everyone keep asking me if i'm not going because of the money?

            Jeremy,

There is a possibility that Kevin will be detained at RDIA. Granted it is a very slim possibility.

Unbeknown to many here, I sometimes "see", envision or-more likely-imagine things.

I'm currently seeing a headline in the Saturday Morning Raleigh newspaper:

"Man Detained at Airport for Smuggling Hamsters"

            Staff Report
            Raleigh October 17, 2009 A Canadian-Swiss-Irish man from
Japan was detained at Raleigh-Durham International Airport
by TSA and local law enforcement officials for attempting to
import hamsters (furry little rodents similar to rats) into the
            US without proper documentation

Kevin Aloysius Riley, of Osaka, Japan alleged the rodents were
service animals essential to his scheduled presentation dealing
with "Product Creation" to a group of online marketers known
as "Warriors" at a local Marriott hotel.

            -more-

Now Jeremy, as my vision is often, if not always, incorrect, thais may not happen. But, if it does I wanted you to be prepared.

            Elmer

PS. Jack, have you set up a "bail fund"?

I've been spending my time trying to find a big enough hook to pull a certain presenter off the stage after their allotted time elapses.

Rich - U2 was last weekend and parking was a joke. Folks basically didn't even make it to the concert because of all the hassles. The State Fair will be better since they've been doing this for decades and the capital rolls out buses, shuttles, and even trains from the bigger cities west and south. Still it'll be a parking lot on Wade Avenue.

Also Jeremy et all - make sure to get your hotel reservations in asap before the event rate goes away. use the code netwharf warrior seminar when you call. unfortunately you can't use the code online.

Also if anyone has reserved a room without using the code please let me know so we can get credit for the room.

Therefore, as a public service, I hereby give you the link to the:

Being a Florida boy, I'm bringing my "long-johns"...

    Elmer "I-don't-like-temperatures-below-70F" Hurlstone
Yes, the weather in NC is pretty unpredictable this time of year. When I checked a few days ago, Weather.com predicted it would be in the 70's, now with each passing day the temp drops a few degrees.

Looks like the "Yankees" are comin' and bringing the cold weather with them JK

My advice, dress in layers so you can be comfortable regardless of the temp changes throughout the day.

Looking forward to meeting everyone this weekend!

I just realized I arrive at the airport 7 minutes ahead of you.

    Chris,

Wow, that brings back memories. I went to WCU for 2 years and had a girl friend in Brevard, so I traveled 64 through Cashiers many times - and we went visiting to Highlands/Franklyn etc lots too.

Beautiful country for sure. Next time I'm up there will have to take the family that way and show them the sites. Especially all those million dollar house hanging off the side of the mountains ;-)

Please consider coming to the event - its going to be a blast and a great networking event. If there are any issues PM me and we'll see if we can work them out.

    best,

I will be there and am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Other than a Harlan seminar in San Fran a couple of years ago, I have never done one of these things. Please be kind.

I have primarily used the internet for my brick and mortar biz; but I have been gaining a strong interest in offline stuff such as SEM. SEM, lol, sounds a little perverted.

Well, look forward to seeing y'all. As you can guess I am from the South (Winston-Salem) to be exact.

Btw, how do people dress at these things?

It's clothing optional; well, at least to the type of clothing.

There is not usually a per se dress code.

I've seen everything from shorts and tee shirts (women and men) to coats and ties (mostly men) and very nice dresses with heels (thus far only women).

The majority dress "business casual" or a bit below. Most wear shoes.

      Jeans and shirts work well.

My wife was born and bred right here in NC. She claims she didn't know Damn Yankee was 2 words until she was 12...

She also claims the only reason she can live in Cary (Containment Area for Relocated Yankees) is because I was born in New Jersey and immigrated later to the US.

We are just 2 days away so folks who are traveling please do so safely. And for those use to warmer climates-best bring a sweater or jacket. I may have to find a long sleeve shirt later today. If you get to the hotel or area early feel free to give me a call - maybe we can grab lunch or dinner before hand!

    again - please travel safely.

hum, trying to figure out how to ask this without violating the manrule of NOT asking a lady her age

but lets just say I've been here since '94 and its changed a lot over the years. Even from 2000 the west side of Cary along Davis, Highhouse, and 55 is not recognizable. The same goes for Walnut street out past Crossroads. The area has grown and is still growing. Carpenter has been swallowed by Cary and if Morrisville wasn't a town already Cary would have taken it over too.

I'd get an updated GPS system since any map - even this year's - is wrong by now.

          See you this weekend!

        Rich,
Willie has responded in another thread that he is on his way here. He's scheduled to speak at the end of the day Saturday before the live WSOs.

I traded comments with Robert Plank last week on his blog and he said he was looking forward to the event.

I've traded emails/PMs with John and Matt and they're looking forward to the event. John Ritz at this time is still planning on attending - but depending on circumstances may cause some issues in his attendence.

But as of right now everything is on course for a great weekend! Bev and Rob are due in tomorrow around 2:30 so if you'd like to grab a light dinner or just some coffee etc later tomorrow evening just let us know. That goes for anyone arriving tomorrow. Just because the event doesn't start until Friday evening mean we can't all get together for an informal meet and greet. Just let me know.

        --Jack

It can be something else. At my age and with some of the medicines I take one beer and I'm looking for a place to snooze most times. Luckily my college buddies don't make fun of me (that much).

So I'll be drinking that Southern staple sweet tea (NOT Long Island Iced Tea ) and I might even splurge and have a Pepsi - remember, Pepsi was invented here in NC!

      George,

Kevin Riley will need to be directed to a restaurant that serves grits.

He has been unable to find grits in Japan.

For those unfamiliar with "grits", they are a southern delicacy. Also very polarizing. You like them or you hate them. My unappreciating wife (born in PA) says, "Grits are grungy." She's flat-out wrong! Grits are great!

Appreciation of grits may be Riley's one redeeming social grace.

  • Elmer - I'm sure we can get Kevin some grits, no problem. They aren't my favorite breakfast food but I love them with shrimp.

Heck with the fair in town we can pretty much find whatever he's looking for. They even have deep fried butter at the fair!

As far as your wife goes, they have something similar in PA by the name of hominy. Lived in York, PA for 12 years.

Elmer and Ken will be carpooling into town together. Does that make anybody else think of "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" with John Candy as Elmer and Steve Martin as Ken? Does the hotel bed scene about the pillow between the cheeks ring a bell?

Kevin Riley will be flying in except this time he will be on an airplane! Does this remind anyone else of the movie "Airplane"... I can just picture the way it will happen...
Pilot to Kevin: You ever been in a cockpit before?
      Kevin to Pilot
: No sir, I've never been up in a plane before.
Pilot to Kevin: You ever...seen a grown man naked?
      Kevin to Pilot
: Yes sir, lots of times, and I have seen lots of naked hamsters too!
      and
Kevin: Reiko, there's been a little problem in the cockpit...
      Reiko
: The cockpit... what is it?
Kevin: It's the little room in the front of the plane where the pilots sit, but that's not important right now.

And Bev Clement??? Don't ask me why but Kathy Bates in the movie "Misery" comes to mind... I'm just saying!?!?

Is Raleigh, NC really ready for all this? I don't think so!!!

Yeah it was a great nite and early morning - but you know the rule whar happens in Raleigh stays in Raleigh !!!!!

LOL Chris! As always, a pleasure to read your posts, love a great sense of humor, almost makes me wish I was on that plane...or not! ROFL!

I wonder if the problem Kevin was talking about was if Elmer was on the plane, he overflowed the "air-john" in the back of the plane because of all that coffee he drank!

Wish I could be there, however my treachous trip through the Kentucky mountains/waterfalls was enough traveling for me for awhile, but certainly would like their warmer climate...it actually snowed in Michigan night before last, Yikes!

Come on, Robin, have you EVER known me to kid about anything in my life? BTW, those were some very good pictures you put up.

Kevin Riley in a suit? THOSE pictures must have been doctored. I DID notice that the old boy had a few wrinkles around the eyes. You would think as much as he drinks that he would be well preserved!

Glad you and others enjoyed the pictures. Wish I had gotten more but was very busy listening and partaking of the great information offered. Elmer and Don have all the pictures. Hopefully we will get to see some of them soon.

@Matt - you missed out but was glad to meet you and listen to your great presentation.

@Tink - Next year, k? I really don't travel that much (as my fellow attendees will attest that I explained many time LOL) but I am sure glad I got up the nerve to travel to this.

@Ron - Very much hope to see you next year. It was great meeting you!

I was happy to help Jack Tackett out with the event and look forword in doing it again at the next event in 2010.

      Just got home from Raleigh

      I headed out this morning.

I talked to and met some really cool people there so, I'm definitely glad I went and experienced it...

      BUT

I more or less used it as an excuse not to work for a couple days. I brought my wife with me and after I got there, decided to just spend some time wit her doing some fun stuff that we NEVER get to do at home due to a pain in the ass known as children

So, we shopped, hit the fair up, watched movies, and shopped some more. The shopping part actually sucked, but she liked it so, it's all good.

I wanted to goof off with Riley a bit too - but, that dude was mobbed wherever he went. It's like he is a celebrity or something Got to chat with Ron Douglas for a little bit and tried to convince him to teach the rest of us warriors how to get the publicity he gets - every time I turn around he is on the TV! So, hopefully he will hook us up with some of his secrets.

I caught part of the Rhodes brothers presentation and it was some good stuff on membership sites so, you might want to be on the look-out for that if it is something new they are doing.

Anyway, all in all it was a good experience and very relaxing so, thanks for putting it all together Jack. You did an incredible job from everything I saw.

          Hi Sam,

You see what attending a great seminar can do for you - not only great networking, unbelievable learning but also life education [about whiskey from the oldest licensed distillery in the world]

As far as the travel I think Kevin Riley expected to take that honor out but was beaten into THIRD place according to my calculation, I traveled over 10,000 miles, Bev traveled over 8,000 miles and Kevin pushing the hamster cages only 7,000 miles.!!!

And for me it was well worth to actually meet up with so many great people who are motivated to taking action as well as those party animals who enjoyed "networking" into the small hours.

          Keep in touch mate

Really good event. Thanks to Jack and his crew.

It was nice to meet some virtual friends in person for the first time like Kevin Riley, Ty Cohen, and Vondre Whaley.

It was also cool seeing several Warriors again who I had met before like Willie, Rhodes Bros, and Ron Capps.

Plus, I had the pleasure of networking with successful Warriors like Bev Clement, Jeremy Kelsall, Tim Castleman, Robert Plank, Gary Byrne, Elmer Hurlstone, Istvan Horvath, Rich Mann, Ken Leatherman, and Robin Skeen (just to name a few off the top of my head).

Lots of down to earth, cool people. I picked up some great tips from the presentations as well.

All and all it was well worth the 2 hour flight from NY :-).

Just back from lunch with Jack, Bev (+ her better half) Istvan and his son. Jack was looking like his battery was run down a little after the great job he and his team of volunteers put together. For those who left early the weather has changed today and its warm (for Raleigh) with clear skys. To all those who enjoyed the "whiskey" night and took part in the "Lance T Beerfest" thanks all for the company and laughs. Will be good to catch up on some sleep soon C Ya later

I had a great time this weekend, and learned so much (in and out of the presentations) that my head is still spinning. As a result, I've already rewritten my ad copy and redesigned my index page (and made money b/c of it), and have plans for turning one of my products into 6 different membership sites/products. As well, I've got plans for some affiliate stuff I want to do.

Everything was great and it was good to meet many of you. I appreciate many of you taking time to help a 'noob' such as myself. I enjoyed all the presentations, and a big thanks goes out to Jason Fladlien and the Rhodes Bros who took a lot of time answering a bunch of my questions and going over my ideas. Same goes to several other of y'all I talked to and "picked your brains" in the bar (I'm horrible w/names - sorry).

And a HUGE thanks to my boy Tim Castleman, who got me in on the event in the first place. Tim, your presentation "ROCKED".

Just walked in the house from a full day of travel which included a delayed flight due to a death of a pilot that morning (long story).

Glad to be home but not sure I can go to sleep before 1 in the morning anymore!

Had a great time meeting everyone and thanks to everyone about the positive feedback from the presentation. Just tried to give something useful.

There were a ton of great presentations that taught me and my buddy so much my hand hurts from all the notes.

A very special thank you to all the people who volunteered and Jack for putting this on this year and hopefully next year!

At any rate I can't wait til the next one and it's time to get back to work starting tomorrow

It was a blast. Many great high level convos, too! I remember the first night Gary, me and Derek Klein were the last ones to punch out, as we were just talking marketing all night. Then the next night, it was me, James (micro niche finder!), the Rhodes Brothers and Gary chatting it up for the late night hours. lol. I think I finally got some rest the final day.

And Willie had the coolest socks at the event!

It was good to meet everyone. I hope I'm not forgetting anyone, but I got to have some great conversations with Elmer, Peter Johnson, Cara, Tamara, Elsom (The Obvious Expert!), The Niche Proof Dr. Ron Caps, Bev and her husband, Matt the MMA workout master, Tim, Robert, Lance, Rod (we did an NLP exercise in front of the whole audience!), Joy (Nice to see you again!), Rich Mann, Edward (thanks for taking me up on the ticket!), Elisabeth, Alexander, Steve (nice to see you again from Orlando), Kevin Riley, a very sweet lady who gave me a "new dad's survival book" , Jack Tackett of course, Jeremy Kissell (he's going to be a legend soon!) talking with Willie and his wife, Mary Wilhite, Derek & Gary for shutting down the bar with me (asset protection!).

I know I'm not recalling all the great interactions right now - I'm exhausted. So let me just thank everyone I got to meet. It was great. I never had my picture taken so many times!

Such great times with all fellow warriors, it was a pleasure to be able to speak at this event and be a part of it. You the man Jack!

Whoa....give me a chance to catch my breath!

Feedback is definitely on the side of a 3rd annual event so I'll start the process when we get the DVDs mastered or at the latest at the start of the new year.

I had a blast and thanks to everyone!

Love to but its right in the middle of my Year 10's exams. I can't teach them all year then bugger off right when they need me.

Well I could, but they would hate me.

Mind you, as a teacher I am hated any way, no matter how nice I am. And I am

So even if I go they would still hate me.

        Kevin,
It may be the land of the rising sun... but for you my friend, I think it's more like the land of the sinking eyelids.

What a great time. So much learned... so many new friends...

For those who attended please get signed up on the link I provided at the event so we can all stay in touch. I you lost or can't remember the link PM me and I'll send it to you.

To Jack and all the volunteers:
You pulled off a five star event. Thanks for all your efforts. It's no small feat to manage an event like this with little to no catastrophes. Pat yourselves on the back for a job well done.

        To all the speakers:
You all delivered some outstanding content and valuable insight from each of your chosen markets. If anyone walked away without encouragement and a sense of community, you couldn't have possibly been at the same event I was at.

I finally made it back home last night after about 12 hrs of flying and ground transportation.. I hope everyone made it back home safely to get some well deserved rest.

Will be posting my graffiti from Raleigh soon.

What a lot of fun and helpful info from the speakers.

Jack really went all-out to make this a great event. He is making noises about doing it again next year. Let's all keep twisting his arm.

@Bev - You did not escape my camera. I managed to take a bunch of images of you while you were speaking, and when I managed to catch you talking into the mic, it looks like you are yodeling. :-)

I sent a quick set of web size files to Jack. I can't wait to see the images Elmer made.

I will get a set of full size and web size images out to all the speakers. The discs were done last night.

      George -

We made that Sunday night before I left NC. I am sure Chef Todd knows it is a joke. If not I am sure he understands that in Texas everyone carries a gun and a few of us are nuts enough to train martial arts 2 hours a day.

Of course if he has a problem he'll call me and we can work it out. But if Robert/Lance don't make contact by tomorrow Chef Todd is going to get angry and make another video.

      The event was awesome!

Finally "back at the ranch" and have time to reflect on all the activities.

Met some really awesome folks who were very willing to help and share their knowledge. It was not a pitch fest. And the alcohol was flowing (thanks, Lance!)

I agree with Jack. Kevin Riley's appearance might indicate the dawning of the Apocalypse. The only sign that would have me totally convinced is if he would've pulled out a hamster during his presentation.

Thank you everyone for making this a truly memorable and profitable event.

Didn't you see the hamster tracks on his tie. Thats why he had to take off his jacket - to give the hamsters more space to run around. !!!!

O.K. Kevin now your in for it. I'm . Not only did you fail to mention my major contribution to getting you prepared for your presentation, you forgot to mention how I guarded your door to keep the SPCA from grabbing those furry little hamsters you were sleeping with. (or whatever you were doing with them)

Trust me folks my imitation of a growling mastiff was the only thing that kept Kevin from being carted off to animal kingdom jail.

Jack, thank you for putting the seminar together and a special thanks to the volunteers. You guys made a major difference in how smoothly it went off.

I would really like to thank each of the presenters for the great ideas, encouragement and the overall information you each provided in your particular field. A very special thanks to Dr. Ron Capps for being so willing to spend an extra couple of hours with Elmer Hurlstone and I.

This was my first full Warrior event and its not going to be my last one.

Again thank you Jack for a great job.

        Ken,

        Thanks for the "thanks".

        Jack,

Riding with me may have been the best road trip Ken has ever taken. He discovered there really is a world beyond a computer screen.

        All,

This was the fourth "live event" I've attended this year. Even though attendance was a bit below Jack's expectations I wasn't able to meet and talk with everyone there. And, I suspect I wasn't alone in that.

If you can possibly make it next year please do.

Although the presentations were great the socialization is the "icing on the cake". Where else can you drop terms like CTR, conversions, opt-ins and uniques without receiving glazed eyes or total incomprehension in return.

        Please give this serious thought...

Riley not my fault you stayed awake all night waiting for the opportunity to blast me with the pillow. Look at the bright side you kept your arm in shape, throwing the pillows, for being able to down the Bush Millls shots faster.

Jack the only problem with riding with Elmer is he kept having to stop at the rest areas and it wasn't for the chance to smoke either. Can one say weak b.....:p

Wow! What a great group of Warriors at the Second Annual Warrior Networking Event in Raleigh, NC...

I don't think I've had this much fun at an IM event before. Besides that, the presenations were great and everyone was friendly and helpful. I left feeling like I made some new friends. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun at breakfast. Elmer Hurlstone, Ken Leatherman and Kevin Riley had me laughing so much I thought someone slipped something into my coffee. You guys are a trip! Thanks for your advice and support, too.

Jason Fladlein ... you are one awesome dude. I'm really looking forward to working with you. You'll be able to help me on so many levels. I've got to hear more about that NLP stuff. Thank you for providing a Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com. I'll be publishing it in the next few days.

Robert Plank ...thank you for the great info and DVD. It was nice to sit back and enjoy your presentation (at lightspeed) knowing you were giving us the slides. Thank you again for providing a Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com. I'll be publishing it in the next few days.

Ron Capps - I really appreciate you staying late to do a Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com. I'll be publishing it in the next few days. Your generousity is greatly appreciated and I can't wait to dig into your "Notes" wso.

Kevin Riley - I wish you lived in the states... I could hang out with you all day long! Great info & conversation. I almost died when my daughter, Alison, scolded you publicly (jokingly) for missing her question to the panel. You handled it with grace & humor, but I thought my IM future just went down the drain. You still managed to give a great response to her question and later, you gave her even more good advice and gave me a couple of fantastic Quick Cash Tip videos for QuickCashNews.com. Thank you, I look forward to working with you!

Willie Crawford - Your integrity and honesty really comes through and I'm especially glad my daughter was able to meet you as well...since she just joined the Air National Guard (and you being a retired Major in the Air Force). It made her feel even better about her future with the ANG and Internet Marketing. Your two Quick Cash Tip videos will be a great addition to QuickCashNews.com...thank you!

Tim Castleman - You gave an very entertaining and informative presentation. It was a pleasure meeting you & thanks a bunch for the Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com.

Steve Odette - Enjoyed talking with you and thanks for the Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com. You're the kind of person newbies should meet first...someone who has their best interests at heart.

Mary Wilhite - What a dynamo... your energy is contagious! It was good seeing you again. I'm really impressed with your rapid success. Thanks for the WSO and for providing another Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com.

Alex Umanets - Thanks for the Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com. I wonder how many of Alison's fellow airmen can say they had lunch with a former Leutenant in the Soviet Army. I wish you well my friend and enjoyed our conversations.

Gary Byrne - You said your desire is to help people. Well, anyone who travels half way around the world at his own expense to learn better ways to accomplish that has everything one needs to make a positive impact on others. I'm sure you'll go far and leave behind a trail of people far better off than they were before meeting you. Thank you for the Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com. It was a pleasure meeting you!

Elmer Hurlstone - Man, was that fun or what!? I bet you even have a good time at the dentist's office! Thanks for all the good advice and moral support, too. Keep in touch!

Bev Clement - I enjoyed your presentation. It should be required viewing of every new aspiring Internet Marketer. So many people would benefit from it. I enjoyed talking with you and your husband. Also, thanks for hiring the interpreter (Elmer)...it was very helpful. He should join the state department don't you think? I wonder how long it took him to learn that language you call "Brit?"

Rod Davis - Hey, Rod. Did Jason put you on the spot or what!? Maybe you'll think twice next time before asking an IM panel a question. I guess that's why some call it a "hotseat." Jason is amazing, but I'm glad I wasn't you at that moment! Nothing like sharing your inner most feelings in front of a bunch of strangers. You did great, though! Oh, and thank you for the Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com.

James Jones - Finally caught up with you. I look forward to continuing our discussion. Thanks for the WSO, also.

Wendy Weiss - Thank you for sharing your expertise on "Cold Calling." It was very helpful. Thank you for the Quick Cash Tip video for QuickCashNews.com

Ken Leatherman - I had a great time at breakfast with you, Elmer and Kevin. Thanks for the special link...the timing couldn't be better. I'll be in contact with you shortly.

Chuck Hestor - Thanks for the info on Social Media. I purchased your book.

Lance Tamashiro - Glad I got to meet you. Up until this event, I thought "buying the house a round of drinks" only happened in western movies. Never saw anyone buy the entire audience a beer (during the event) before...thanks! Is that a "conversion" strategy? I hope we get a chance to talk more in the future.

Matt & John Rhodes - Excellent presentation on memberships...I look forward to learning more at MembershipBlueprints.com.

Jack Tackett - Great job! I'm really glad I got to meet you. Thanks for everything! Please keep in touch.

Wow, Steve, after reading your vivid post, I felt like I was back at the Marriott

I had a great time at the Warrior Networking Event and it was fantastic meeting everyone!

Sorry we weren't able to arrange for some nicer weather

At the risk of leaving someone out...

Jack, it was great to finally meet you, you and your volunteers did an awesome job on this event! Get some rest and, remember, I'm available to help with next year's event.

Jason, Tim and Matt, I had a fabulous time having dinner and hanging out with you guys Friday nite, lots of laughs...

Gary, Gail, Dennis, George, James, Matt and John, Jack, Kevin and everyone else who joined us Saturday nite (sorry if I left you out, we had such a large group, having a hard time remembering everyone), had a blast hanging out and talking with you all at Fat Daddy's...

George, it was loads of fun seeing you and hanging out again! (Thanks for the doughnuts, yummy)

Cynthia, Tracy and Teddy, it was great seeing you all from the Raleigh Mastermind group again.

Robin, Elmer, Sam, Rich Mann, Jason, Tim, Matt, Mary, etc., enjoyed our incredibly fun chats on "the patio"

Deidre and Barnsley, what a wonderful surprise having lunch with you at the food court. I'll be in touch!

    Okay, back to work...

    Tamara

PS: Thanks for the beer, Lance!

          Catch up time.

          John & Chris,

Kevin spent his spare change on Irish Whiskey. Nary a farthing, pence, hapenny or tupence for me. Certainly no Sterling!

          Phil,

Your humble apology is accepted. On the internet, in addition to no one knowing "you're a dog", no one knows how tall-or not-you are. Here you're judged by your knowledge, character and online personality. And that's as it should be. Regardless of our physical altitude, our attitude is what we're known for. And that also is how it should be.

          George,

I strongly suspect that Mary, Cynthia, Tracy or Cara was standing somewhere in my line of sight.

You are no doubt a good guy, but you just ain't my type.

          Respectfully,

          Elmer

Mate. You should have seen the American food! Hamburgers that you need two hands to hold (a third if you can borrow it). Plates the size of beer trays. I saw a taco at the airport the size of a large luncheon meat - couldn't figure out how you'd eat it unless your jaw unhinged.

It was very American. Of course, with Col Sanders there (pic above) I was surprised we didn't have massive buckets of fried chicken.

          TD,

I believe a portion or portions of the WF Raleigh Event will be broadcast on one of your local Public Access Channels some time down the road. Jack Tackett will be able to provide info on dates and times.

Additionally, also in the future, a DVD set of the seminar will be available.

This seminar differed from many as it was more content and less pitch-fest. While the presenters, for the most part, had something to sell they spent very little time doing so. Their sales pitches were analogous to "verbal signatures" or resource boxes at the end of an article.

          Elmer

PS. phil.wheatley: It, sir, is a "FEDORA", not a cowboy hat. It came from the classic and much vaunted Indiana Jones Collection.

TD - PM me your email and I'll put you on the list. Also there's a pretty active mastermind in the area run by Teddy Garcia and Cynthia Richards - in fact most of the volunteers came from this group. There's a post about the meetup in the forum Kevin mentioned. If you can't find it just let me know and I'll send you the link.

Hope to see you next year.

          Hey TDSILK,

Teddy Garcia has a monthly Mastermind group that meets around the first of the month in Raleigh.
This is a perfect place to meet like minded internet marketers, the people that attend are fantastic and very knowledgeable.

Can you make the next event in Istanbul - Turkey?

Wow, would love to visit! I can't host an event there - but you can! In fact several folks have suggested maybe holding an event like this outside the US for our fellow Warriors in other countries.

I like the idea the Science Fiction community does with their World Con - each year they vote on where a future con will be held. Maybe that's a tradition we can start with this event as well.

I'm still trying to tidy up from this year's event so won't be making decisions until the January time frame.

So think about it- I've heard Instanbul is a beautiful City.

    Jack,

It IS a beautiful city and I would love to host an event here next year. I'm not sure if there are a lot of Turkish members on this forum though. I can arrange everything for others. I'll make this happen in near future

Hey Kevin - good to meet you. I have family in the area there and visit several times a year. In fact I graduated from UNC-A and met my wife there and was married in the botanical gardens at the university. Great place. Maybe we can hook up for lunch the next time I'm in the area?
      Talk with ya soon.
