Hey There, Does anyone know of a good merchant account that does not require the purchaser to sign up to make a purchase (i.e. like AlertPay does), nor requires a US address and/or bank account (like 2CO does). This is for a business that does a pretty good volume, so nothing too rinky dink would work. Also it's not an incorporated business, so they would have to be cool with that. Google checkout is not set up for Canada and PayPal is okay as a back up, but my client needs a 'real' merchant account relationship. Thanks in advance fellow warriors! |

Both InternetSecure and Merchant-Accounts.ca - U.S & Canadian Merchant Accounts offer merchant accounts AND gateway for Canadian businesses (no affil). I have no experience with them - just got this info somewhere... |
| In the first half of the year we are supposed to work for the taxman. I think that's a mistake. Help me to get rid of the taxman ASAP - thanks! (You, too, should make less mistakes!) | |

I have a 2co account and I live in Canada. They do not require a US address to sign up. James |

James is correct. I'm in Canada as well and did not require a US address. Authorize.net does. I would check out Beanstream |

I was looking into this for awhile for a project that didn't go through, and Beanstream Electronic Payment Processing - Online Credit Card Processing, Online Debit Cards, and Direct Debits / Direct Payments. looked like a clear winner. I didn't actually get to the point of using them so can't say from experience but was impressed with just about everything about them. One thing that is a bit unique is they can handle direct debit transactions where a customer just pays from their bank account, and that can be repeating monthly charges.

Great input ... thanks everyone. My client was obviously mistaken about his 2CO conversation. We'll check out the others mentioned as well. This really helps. Thanks again.
