Default How long did it take you to do finish your first product?

Hi there everyone,

I am busy creating a new eBook and video course, but it is just taking ages doing this. How long did it take all of you to create your first digital product. I have been busy for 2 weeks and I am not even finished with the draft of the ebook. Loads of work, hehe.

Anyway, were wondering what you guys thought.

It's all hard work but it's good to see progress. The main thing is to not lose focus and more importantly, INTEREST.

I am still developing and tweaking my first product (a web application) and that has been live since the start of the year. I have never written any ebooks yet but do plan on doing so a little down the line.

I have though written a user manual which was 36 pages long. That took about 2 days I think. I'm just in the process of writing another manual now. Started today and will hopefully be finished with it tomorrow. It's all fun and games :-)

I can't remember exactly how long it took, although I know it was a lot longer than I wanted.

The main thing to remember is the first one is always the hardest and takes the longest. After that, you'll put your system together and bang them out, one after another.

Cheers,
Peggy

If you are doing everything yourself then sure, it will take time.
It depends on how many hours per day you set out aside for it.

I developed a membership site 2 years ago. Took me 6 months to develop. It could have taken me 1 month if I knew more about outsourcing then.

That's how we learn ;-)

It took me a weekend to create my first ebook (~50 pages). Of course, I could've done it in a few hours had I not been distracted once every few minutes

Don't try to make your product perfect. Just cover everything you want covered and be done with it. The longer you spend on this product, the less time you'll have to work on other things (such as product #2).
