I can't believe the nerve of some people!

I was on DigitalPoint forums before (yes please forgive me for being on that wasteofspace...ehh place) and I came across a thread made that sounded familiar to me.

It didn't take long for me to work out that I had read the same post WORD FOR WORD over here on Warrior Forum by Jason Moffatt.

The idiot on DP was making out like she wrote it and it was her thoughts....

So yeah watch out, some people will do anything to promote their sig link, even if it means being too lazy to type up their own forum posts!

Unfortunately, that may happen. That doesn't make it right, just like it isn't right for people to post other people's products on warez-theft sites.

There are warriors who are using a lot of posts here and making slight changes and then posting them elsewhere, but you can tell immediately who the person was who wrote the original article.

It is a way some pretend to be gurus and con people into believing they know more than they actual do.

Ernie, while I think you'd go insane if you were to try and do anything about this plagiarism, you make a good point.

It's worthwhile remembering that there's sometimes upwards of 1500 people logged on to the WF - you'd have to be pretty naive to think that they're all up-standing model citizens.

This is really, really dumb behavior.

The greatest asset you can build on a forum is trust.

As soon as someone discovers you've done something like this they will NEVER trust you NEVER buy from you and whenever anyone asks about you they'll tell them you're a cheat and a thief.

Probably not the world's greatest marketing strategy.

And you're also a thieving low scumbag if you do it.

Worse still some marketers (and I'd bet Jason is one of them) have enough knowledge of the dark side of internet marketing to screw any online marketing career you think you might have up for good if you try to pull something like this.

Andrew the crazy thing is some have been called out on this before, and they spend all their time trying to justify their position. The posts get deleted, and they continue to pretend to be a guru based on the time here, posts and claim of income.

I think it would surprise many the people who are doing this on a daily basis, but their logic is so flawed as to why, and also why they have no problem with it.

There's also a guy at DP who buys WSO's, copies and pastes the WSO copy and any testimonials and presents them as his own product and special offer. I've caught him 3 times so far and posted comments to direct DP members back to the original WSO (and at the usually lower price). He does this as soon as he buys it while the WSO is still running, which is bad form in my opinion.

Mike this has happened with my WSO also.
My report was given in DP as freebie...
It hurts really when you have put energy and

Yep. I've had that very thing done to one of mine. It was linked to DP from one of those warez-theft sites.

Thankfully, it was a Warrior who alerted me to it.

You're right, and these fools mostly use Rapidshare to host the illegal content.

If you email Rapidshare, I've found that they are VERY quick to remove your
content, and actually block your product's name from being uploaded again.

Beyond Rapidshare, it's just annoying to deal with.

If you do this kind of thing the only one that you are really showing up is yourself.

I personally would not feel good if I got praise off of people for a post that I copied.

In a way I think it is good for the rest of use, because if they feel the need to do this with a forum post then it is highly unlikely they will have the dedication to release a good product!

I find it hard to believe that a 40-50 year old women would do this but I guess knowing the way the world is these days...it's possible lol.

Whats really ironic is, one of the posts she copied and pasted talked about being trustworthy as one of the ways to make more money.....HA too bad he/she doesn't practice what she preaches.

This kind of behaviour sucks.....

Any form of plagiarism is not acceptable in my book.....

About six years ago, my wife had a situation with an author
that she represented. The books were already delivered to the
bookshops with special displays etc. Someone bought a copy and
then discovered that the book was, word for word, identical to
a course that he had done.

When my wife confronted the author about the obvious copyright
infringement, he "innocently" said that as far as he was concerned,
copyright meant that he had the "right to copy"......can you
believe it.

Needless to say, all stock had to be recalled and destroyed....

The nerve of some mother's children!!!!!

That is ridiculous that anyone would do such a thing. You are right on that, at least if they are too lazy to create their own posts, they won't create that many great products if any. Wow, that is sad, but you know if you find that your post was copied that is a good form of flattery. It means you did a good job.
