Default Split Test Question

Hi all,

I want to split test a physical newsletter with a digital one.

Would it be better to put each offer on two different domains or just do a regular A/B split test with the only variation being a physical vs digital newsletter?

Off the top of my head I can see issues arise with prospects who visit the page and see offer A (physical newsletter), don't buy but return at a later date to purchase where they see offer B (digital newsletter). Will this confuse the customer resulting in no sale or am I just thinking too much?

Kevin

I am just having a hard time envisioning a niche where you need a physical newsletter.

Do you mean like ink and paper snail mail?

I am sure you have a good reason or you wouldn't be asking but that sounds like a lot of trouble to me.

I do mean actual paper and snail mail. The newsletter is the main product and some people feel better about having something they can hold.

I get physical newsletters and I love being able to take them with me wherever I go.

On the flip side I can do so much more with a digital newsletter such as adding video but in the end I want to deliver what the customer wants.

Kevin,

Why not offer the physical version as an upsell? If they want to pay a bit more for a physical version to be shipped to them, then let them. It can be an easy way to add another $5-20 to the order price per unit. You can use a print-on-demand company for order fulfillment then.

Hope that helps,

Mike
