That's really too general a question. Is there anything specifically that you need to know or want to learn? There are probably a lot of threads on getting started.

    Hi Kingpin,

You mentioned you're a beginner and PPC is something not to mess with if you're not very familiar with it. You have to be very careful as you may end up losing big time. One suggestion is to put a cap on your expeditures and always keep an eye on the results.

Arbitage is possible but like I said its really complicated and you should know what you're doing.

Aside from PPC you might also want to try other ways to generatetraffic to your site. The usual and least expensive ways would be article writing, backlinking, good SEO, etc. It may take some time but meanwhile you get lots of experience which you can also use in future promotions.

Just my 2 cents. Wish you luck.

I don't do the PPC anymore for the fact that other methods are working for me . I have had good results in the past .

I hear all the time , not to get into PPC if you are new to it .

If you can't start because you would be new at it .... how do you ever start ?

Everyone has to have their first ad sometime .

Instead of saying not to try PPC because you are new ... I would suggest a realistic budget until you get it working for you .

Not sure if the advice is not to get started in it if your new. I believe that the advice should be not to get started until you have learned enough about it so you dont lose more than your share.

I am new also, the reason I joined WF is for knowledge. Sort of learning from others mistakes. I think that is what you should try doing, do a search of the forum on PPC and see if there are any threads that will answer your questions. There is a lot of information here, its just takes a little digging.

      Also, good luck.

I agree the Warrior forum is a great place to learn.

The problem arises when someone can't get past the research phase .

You can read for a year , learn all there is on the forum. And still never feel confident enough to take action .

        or you can

Set up an account , run a well regulated, budget oriented, test campaign , learn from your mistakes , build on your successes , and be making real money in the time others are "researching"

    Kingpin2012-

I tend to agree with everyone above about staying away from PPC as a newbie. Speaking from experience, I lost $500.00 very quickly (within a few hours).

I am just now getting comfortable with PPC. I was so tired of hearing "It's all about the Keywords" but now after months of learning, I am getting that it really is "all about the keywords". There is definitely a learning curve, I'm a slow learner so I am just now getting it!

This business is not overnight and it takes persistance and work everyday. If you have some marketing funds and look to get traffic quick maybe there is a local SEO service you can visit and discuss. They are popping up in my area alot.

Well- good luck. It will happen. As a newbie though just be realistic!

Could it be that your ads were not bad ?

It is possible that the landing page wasn't right ?

Would things worked better if you had budgeted a little better ?

You can learn from you own mistakes. I make mistakes and learn from them all the time. My thing is that some don't know what SEO is, or even how to get started with it. Just packing your site full of keywords wont make it popular.

Running a budget oriented campaign becomes easier when you know what to expect from the market. Learning how to do a little market research will go along way in running your campaign. I suggest getting a copy of Market Samurai or some program similiar and learning the modules. It has helped me alot in learning what to expect.

Except adsense placement. This still takes time and tests.

You can try article marketing and sending traffic to a review blog and from there have them opt in to a newsletter

If you do try PPC...PAY ATTENTION to the campaign you are running. Ensure that you are getting conversions that become money in your pocket. When I started, I was just so thrilled that people were clicking my ads that I didn't do due diligence with the campaign. I lost several hundred dollars before I got out a little wiser and a lot poorer. Classified ads are another option if you don't want to spend the time writing articles, Ezine ads and solo ads can work, although they're kind of expensive too. The advantage of classifieds and ezine ads is that you are hitting a more targeted audience, IMO, than you get with PPC.
