Do You Struggle with Domain Names?

How easy is it for you to decide on domain names? I sometimes find myself sitting for an hour or more agonizing over a domain name for a single site.

Do I go with the longer one that has the keyword I want?

Do I go with the shorter one that just has a sharper sound to it?

Do I go with the one that is almost what I want, but I would have to accept the .net version?

Do I like this word better or that?

If I choose one, will it be the right one?

I know, I am obsessing, but sometimes it would be so helpful to bounce ideas off of someone who knows what would be best. (In other words, not a family member or friend who doesn't have a real clue.)

Of course, the problem with that is that I can't actually reveal the domain names that I am considering to the people in this forum. Not that I would say that anyone here is a shark... but... well..

Does anybody struggle with this like I do? Or am I making this much harder than it needs to be?

By the way, I do the same thing with wordpress themes, so I think I just have a problem. Maybe I need counseling?

I don't think that the .net is a bad way to go. It's not .com, but I think it is highly accepted now days!

I guess that depends on your goal. Is it going to be for the long haul or something your not sure about?

I found, if you gather up a bunch of your keywords and head over to godaddy, namecheap or somewhere of your choice, look for the bulk domain button, paste them in there, you might be surprised what you come up with in the .com arena.

    Just a though! Steven

Instead of the bulk domain button, I use domain name analyzer. It does the same, but has a few more functions. And you don't have to enter the name twice for .com and .net, you can have it check for whatever extensions you want. I did end up registering a .net, by the way.

I finally found one that I could live with. I think my problem is I get something in my head, and when I check availability and it's already taken (as all of the best ones are) then nothing else sounds as good.

    Gotta work on that.
