treepromise.com Treepromise will plant a tree in your name which will absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and replace it with enough oxygen for two people. I want to target it to city-dwellers who would want to reduce their carbon footprint. I've set up an affiliate system through TrialPay with an 85% commission. I'd really appreciate any and all comments/criticism/pointers you could give me. Thanks in advance! |

Hi, Like winebuddy said I'm not sure if this is going to be your own company or one that you are promoting? There is no reason you couldn't have an affiliate program for cabon offsetting. However I think you would need to establish a robust methodolgy behind carbon calculations. There are many established companies/non profits who offer carbon offsets and their offsetting calculations differ depending on the methodolgy used. If you are setting up your own business, you'll find yourself competing with some well known entities who have a good grip on the science. Manda |

If I understand what you are saying, you can set up a affiliate program. I think it will be hard to establish yourself and market but I could be wrong.

I think to make it more of a "product" you could consider some kind of certificate program or something. I know people can get stars named after them. My sister paid as a xmas gift one year for me sponsorship for a flock of geese. As a customer, how do I know you planted a tree for me? Will I be able to see it? Are these trees numbered? Let's say I live in NYC - where are you planting my tree? Somewhere in New York State? |
