SSL certificates are used to secure and encrypt sensitive data being passed around on your website. Check out Godaddy's more detailed explanation of SSL certificates here: https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/ssl/ssl.asp

It's only a good deal IF you where planning on purchasing a SSL cert for your domain. =/ The cheapest option on the SSL cert is $9.95 per year.. so 9.95 + 2.99 = $12.94 for the domain..

I think I'll just stick with the regular price of $9.69 with an .88 coupon = $8.81

godaddy does the same thing, says get a domain name for 1.99 ... but you have to purchase something else along with the domain to get it at the $1.99 price. Since I don't use godaddy anymore I don't know what the extra would cost, but I know it costs more. (I looked at homepage, but can't be bothered to look more than that.. I flat out won't use them)

I think there is also a coupon for godaddy that makes .com domains available at $2.99

I think it was 299BUYCOM

Try it, I bought around 7-8 domains with this code and it worked like a charm, don't know if it still works though

Usual SSL Cert and domain = $18.76
Now it's $12.94

I meant the regular price of just a domain itself. I had said that was good deal ONLY IF you where going to purchase a SSL cert anyways.

If you just wanted a good deal on a domain name, what I explained is that you actually end up paying more for it than you would if you just bought the domain by itself for it's regular price. (and threw in an .88 coupon)

Yes, this deal is only for those who need/want/require SSL cert for their new domain.
You wouldn't consider it otherwise.
