I do automate many, many things. But these do happen no matter what... And honestly, you cannot rely 100% on software and tools, so still need to check for fakes.

Anyways, good thing to remember, thanks

Some people may not have enough posts to send a PM, so eMail would be the only option for them. If you go that route, I would think it would need to be a requirement that sellers post contact details in their WSO. If it's hidden away in their profile, newbies may not be able to find it easily (or know to look there), so it'll just add to the frustration of anyone who legitimately purchased a WSO and had problems receiving it.

You need to check for the name the buyer bought under, too -- I had a sale and my download link wasn't working. One person bought then sent me a pm that he didn't get the link and gave me a po number. I couldn't find that po# anywhere - so told him the sale wasn't showing up. It turns out that HE DID purchase - his name and money were there......the po number was wrong. Not sure if the mistake was his or pay-pals, but if I hadn't checked it out further I would have ended up cheating someone out of a product. So it works both ways.

I don't post the transaction id. To me, it's easier to just forward the email that paypal sends you as your receipt. That eliminates all doubt in my opinion.

The WSO's here are dirt cheap and are extremely useful for most people. It's a shame there are people who go that far.

Maybe there should be some new protocol when selling. For example, perhaps some sort of warning to users when replying to WSO threads? I was thinking of a pop-up but would be irritating. Maybe some sort of RED LABEL just above the user input message box. " WARNING: Posting your transaction # or other personal ordering information is forbidden. Please contact the seller directly with your ordering or transaction # If you have comments or questions regarding such. K thanks."
I agree with you i think admin should put up a system that will give WARNING to anybody that post PayPal transaction number for WSO ORDER....

Yes, that is a great idea and a constructive way to curb this kind of behaviour. Forwarding the entire transaction email definitely eliminates any doubts of purchase fraud.

Interesting,

I guess there is no limit to what some will do to save a buck, I never bothered checking, but I can see now that I had better start being more careful. One thing for sure, the time verses lost revenues are more important than ever as the recession brings out the rip offs on all front.

I have been seeing a similar problem with affiliate marketing, more and more poeple simply input their own clickbank ID's into url cutting out who ever got them to affiliate site to begin with, one of the reasons most affiliate programs are going to multi-tier to try and prevent total loss on sales. The whole industry is in for a tough time the worse the recession gets, so hang on.

Success to all,

It might also help to break the wso section up into more categories, if possible.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. E-junkie has been a real pain. I've had to notify the product owner to get my stuff two of the past three times I've bought something through there because I couldn't get the products to download.

Wishful thinking, but I get what you're saying. :-)

Sometimes I think there are some people in NLP community who are responsible.

If you haven't seen "Lie To Me" (US TV Series) -- check it out.

OTOH, if you truly want to see something frightening about the limits (or lack thereof) to persuasion -- get your hands on a copy of Derren Brown's "The Heist." Sometimes it shows up on video sites. You want to watch the whole thing...about 60 minutes, I think. The abbreviated versions don't do it justice.

For truly ethical persuasion, check out Robert Cialdini's Institute, forgot the name offhand.

Part of the problem, of course, is that what is lying to some is justified as righteous in the mind of the liar. Same with the stealing. "Those people are stealing from me because they are selling me crap."

I am in NO WAY justifying the thinking...just trying to help people understand how that thinking works.

And if you think the one or two pseudo-refunders are the problem, you have NO IDEA of the depth of the "marketplace" (term used very loosely) in illegally obtained WSOs. One of the surest way to make no money with your wso is to keep it from having any kind of download link protection.

It's one of the first things I ask my clients -- "What are you using for download protection for your product."

If they don't have it, it can drive "conversion rates" to zero.
The recent stats say 15% of the US population are certifiable sociopaths.

(This number is now triple what is was 10 years ago, there is some way we are raising our young that is causing this anomaly to grow exponentially. Or maybe it is TV, not sure and though studies have been done on TV's increase of ADHD & ADD, no studies have YET linked TV content with the rise in sociopaths as a percentage of population.)

Sociopaths have no conscience and no regret over saying or acting in any inappropriate manner, such as stealing or lying. They are immune to feelings of regret entirely. So it is not surprising this goes on (to me) and though one would like to think the Warrior Forum members were a cut above, with the price of admittance only $10, that is an unlikely scenario.

(Yes, I know what 'they' say about stats, but it is true... look it up. And yes I am also aware 15% of the people that read this will be sociopaths.)
