Making Money While Too Ill to Work - Sick Pay :-)

I set-up a few different sites this year and never actually thought so much of the profit that I've been earning from them until today after arriving back from hospital finding a fair amount of earnings have built up in my accounts.

I guess it's encouraged me to build some more of those sites because they work unlike a lot of the other **** I've tried. Article marketing.. ahem!

So there you go anyone who doesn't make much, start scaling it up!

That's my goal! Build up my article base so I won't have to worry about getting fired, getting sick or even taking the occasional day off without pay.

P.S. - and to add to my retirement income in 3 years!

Sorry to hear you were in the hospital. Hope you recover quickly. It is nice that the work you did once continues to pay, isn't it?

Were you being negative or positive about article marketing?

I am getting into a few new niches this year myself. One area is building more sites to affiliate with physical products.

How do you enforce them? Scripts? Tracking? Contracts? Or plain old good will?

Just thought it might be great for aspiring writers and others to learn how.

        Good question.

        Argh. No short answer possible.

Best choice: check out Jay Abraham's "Strategy of Pre-eminence."

I thank Dr. Mani for reminding me of this from time to time...

I didn't understand this before, but I do now -- because that's what I try to do with everyone of my clients.

I turned down what could have easily been many hundreds in copywriting fees yesterday. Why? Because I told the person that they were in way over their head on a particular project. (Much to my embarrassment, they said, "I know."). But, in the long run, I don't think writing that salesletter, and helping the client to travel down a problematic path, serves them.

And if you think I have the "luxury" of doing this -- don't you believe that for one minute. I'd rather go hungry (AND HAVE) than send a client down what I believe to be the wrong path, simply for a few bucks.

See? I told you. No short answer.

OK. Thanks for the reply. I wasn't referring to me as such. I'm in a very different business where contracts, SLAs etc are the order of the day.

I just thought maybe you could share a few pointers with the group. Not many of the newcomers can afford a Jay Abraham product!

P.S. Dr. Mani reminds most of us of many (of the most important!) things all of the time. Love the guy.

            Me either.

            Maybe this would help?

    Thanks for sharing that post.

    I have two questions please.

    1) Did those sites make money due to Article Marketing?
    2) Did you outsource the article writing or did you write the articles yourself?

I have begun to shun article marketing in a very big way.

It was not so long ago that I really did put a lot of effort into article marketing as well as SEO..

Now I concentrate on the traffic from search engines.

On an ending note - EzineArticles are screwing you all over!

      Best Regards
      Mark

P.S If I sound vague hit me with more questions.

        Thanks for your reply.

So if you did not do article marketing then what did you do? Did you just build backlinks and promote your sites via Squidoo pages etc?

Please tell me more about your Ezine theory, sounds interesting

Niche Research (my beautiful keywords) > Ezine Articles = More adsense money for ezine articles than I get clickthroughs to my links.

Niche Research (my beautiful keywords) > My own site/blog = More earnings ALL for myself.

This is the key, scale up. The more content you have working for you the more stable your income is. I do a good bit of article marketing now and if you do it right its a stable long term income stream.

The weird thing is a couple of years ago I did not even believe in the power of articles, but I have definitely changed my mind once I figured out how to make it work and that key is scaling and of course outsourcing so I have more time to count my money :-)

    Good job keep it going.
