Let me ask a qustion regarding IM of a physical product/service

Hey guys,

I am trying to help a friend establish her unique craft/gift business online. She is set up to do her stuff locally, but, I am trying to help her get it going on a larger scale basis. I discussed shipping with her today, and she is set up to be able to do that.

I have found an AWESOME, but timely, niche she could get in, and I believe, that marketed correctly, she could make some excellent money, and quick.

However, I wanted to find out how I should go about it. I dont' know HTML, and really don't know how to build websites, per se. I know how to blog, and to use Wordpress and Blogspot to talk about products, but, I am concerned that just talking about her products would not be enough to market them.

What do you guys think? If I was going to market a widget for a friend, what kind of site should I set up? Is it too much to usually ask those visiting my blog to call/email/mail their order in?

I suppose part of it is that I do not know how to create an "online store," and dont' know if it would help. The competition certainly has it, but, they have not capitalized on these certain phrases.

Wordpress has an easy store like template - perfect for one off crafts.

You can load the pictures in, descriptions, amount available of each. The person can pay via paypal, and when you get the orders the payment alert can show in the email.

When someone pays via paypal the buyer can add specific directions and the address will be provided automatically to your seller.

Here is another quesiton along those lines. I am doing the 30DC, which wants you to purchase a membership for a bulk of Wordpress direct sites.

Is there any difference in Wordpress and Wordpress direct?
