I just signed up a deal with a software distributor who would sell one of my softwares (this software is free at the moment so has made no money for me). I will get 10% of the retail store sale and 30% of download sale.

This could mean 10s of thousands of dollars in sales in next 12 months. Of course, nothing is guranteed. I am exicted and nervous both and just wanted to share this with you guys :-)

Wishing you the best. If you can tell us a little more about what kind of software you are selling it would help us imagine things and put us in the right perspective. May be we can give some ideas, suggestions, opinions and critique.

They are interested in my Job Finder. They even asked me if I could buy JobFinder.com (but that is taken and is for sale for 1.5 million dollars). Job Finder aggregate jobs from several job sites. It can also send email alerts as soon as the job appears on those sites.

Congrats! Hope you have made a successful deal which'd bring you lots of dollars in the coming months. However, be careful and develop a good relationship with the distributor that'd ensure a better business experience.

Well, what they have signed up is that if I don't make 40K by april of 2010 then I have the option to not renew their contract, otherwise it will be renewed automatically for next two years.
