Hi Guys just been messing about with some free stock images.

Thought I would just share the website which has free stock images.

The website is in the book.

If you cant see the name of the website its :-
stock.xchng

Create your own unique graphics by using stock images.

I took stock image of book and snapshot of the website and overlayed using photoshop.

If you are pulling your images from some of the most popular clip art packages or from shareware and free collections on the Web then chances are that you will see the same images popping up on fliers, in ads, or gracing newsletters and Web pages.

    Hi
Thats the whole point how many websites do you visit that have the same graphics, alot in the same niche.

By taking stock images and making simple changes to them you can make them look unique.

SXC.hu has been a one of my favo[u]rite graphics website for a few years.

I am now also using Dreamstime.com too.

I also do not object to paying out a couple of bucks for an image if it is really special!

thanks for the heads up on dreamstime.com

not heard of that one before.

Good to source graphics from many places.

Just wanted to show forum members how you can alter stock photo's to make unique images.

    Original Stock Image

Modified Version with websites added (took about 10 mins)

Would love to know what people think about the idea.

PM me if you require further info.

      Thanks for the comment.

The initial idea for this one was to show the keyboard folding in and showing another site behind.

I was going to add some fire on the keyboard but never got around to it.

      Hence the melted effect look.

      Thanks

Stock Xchange has some beautiful graphics with some very talented artists.

A lot of the graphics are perfect for the IM niche. Just be sure and read the terms and conditions for their use, they sometimes comes with restrictions and stipulations such as contacting the artist and letting them know how and where you'll be using their work, also check the fine print too in regards to altering or modifying images, better to be safe.

I guess it all boils down to what your end use is, if it's for your own personal website/s then that's fine, if on the other hand it's intended for resell then it's a no-go.

    Very Good Point Charann

I checked on some images you have to notify the artist that you are using them on a public site.

Modifying them for you own use appears to be fine with the majority of the images.
