Here is why I stopped buying Clickbank market place scripts ... whatever those are ...

FIRST:

Clickbank affiliate links are a big drawback. Anybody can steal them and change the affiliate id to theirs.

SECOND:

Hosted market place scripts making my web pages loading slow. I asked the author if I can host the code and database on my site. They said it is not possible as it needs frequent updates. ofcourse it is true ...

THIRD:

Hosted script on my site are not performing good recently.

So by the end of the day, I decided to remove all CB affiliate links.

Instead I have decided to go with this approach:

* Selecting few CB products out of IM niche where people don't know about affiliate link hacking.
* Create a 20 - 40 page blog for each one of them.
* Promote them.

This approach is better than simply displaying CB links by market place scripts on a content site.

I used to promote two CB products before sameway. I registered two domains and posted related articles and promoted them. Later I moved on to CB marketplace script.

"Clickbank marketplace script" means the script displays ALL PRODUCTS of clickbank market place on your site.
      Example: CBMall.com

I certainly believe this! Clickbank affiliates trying to sell other Clickbank affiliates clickbank products (I see this on Twitter) is like a bunch of shovel salesman trying to sell each other shovels. Why would a shovel salesman by a shovel from another shovel salesman when he can get the same shovel for wholesale through his own source?

Brilliant Alexa! I have been with Clickbank for a while and have a bunch of accounts but never did I realize that because of the CDR that newcomers can't get their check even if they buy through their own link. So it makes it pointless for them to buy through their new account. They would have to get other affiliate sales to meet the CDR. I simply never thought of this. I just though the cdr was to prevent chargebacks and fraud.

        Exactly like:

Why would internet marketing product creators with their products listed on Clickbank attempt to sell their product to other internet marketing product creators with products listed on Clickbank (often on the exact same topic!)?

You have to meet the CDR just to get your first check for a new account. I think you need 5 different sales from 5 different people and at least 1 mastercard order and 1 visa order. But check the clickbank site to be sure.

It really doesn't matter. If I made a sale into my clickbank account by hacking other CB affiliate link, I can make more sales by many other ways.

          One sale from forum signatures
          One sale from my list
One sale from my web site visitors
One sale by giving free report on hub pages, squidoo etc.

Yes, it will take tme, but I already am 20% there after making a sale by hacking. right?

I always hated those scripts... The Titile of every product can be sometimes dumb.

You can start your own marketplace script by adding one product at a time if you want.

I can hook you up with a MySQL databased script that allows you to update it with the most current CB product listing with one click... and you host it on your own cPanel server.

I was just thinking about that today, as a matter of fact; (as a gift to warriors).

Yet, after reading your (legitimate) concerns about link jacking; I won't release anything until I can implement one of the link shortener APIs into the script, first.

Currently finishing up a pretty big project, but it shouldn't take too long for me to finish up the script. Everything but the URL shortening is already done.

Will make a post when its done.

Regarding the Clickbank Distribution Requirement of five sales before an affiliate can get paid. They may not get paid if they haven't made five sales, but you don't get paid either because they clicked through their own link, neither get paid!

It saying (Or what I understands) - You can not use your account for SOLE PURPOSE of getting discounts. If you had sales from 5 cards and 2 payment methods, then it will be OK to use your account to get self discounts.

        Am I wrong?

I think also that most of these newcomers do this to save a few bucks and not to be an affiliate so they may never really get around to promoting anything. Then the Clickbank Dormant Account fees will get 'em.

The thing about CDR not doing a great job of stopping people from buying through their own links is twofold.

First, as you can see from some of the comments in this thread, many people do not really understand this requirement. They don't learn about the CDR until they wonder about why they have not been paid, and even then some remain confused about the process.

The other point I think someone is trying to make is that if you as an affiliate introduce someone to a clickbank product, and they try to buy from their own link to get the commission themselves....then even if they do not qualify because of CDR requirements, you as an affiliate still lose out. I assume that the merchant will get paid their share right away, but whatever happens to the affiliate share, it definitely does not go to the person who originally introduced the product. It either just sits there with CB or maybe it goes to merchant.

I really hate that so many clickbank merchants make it so clear even in non IM niches that anyone can be an affiliate and make money selling their products. Imagine if every item you purchased in a store came with advice on how you can buy it cheaper direct from the manufacturer, or sell it yourself with no minimums.

As far as issue of selling Clickbank products to other marketers, it must work to some extent because many guru and other successful marketers send out recommendations of Clickbank products all the time.

While I don't really get it, it must be working to some degree.

Maybe this is the wrong thread to ask this question
BUT there are many smart marketers discussing Clickbank here
    so I'll ask anyway

I am getting ready to launch an affiliate program through Clickbank.

You send a customer to my site and they BUY, go to Clickbank and PAY,
come back to my site and BUY an OTO.

Does the affiliate get credit still?

How long do clickbank cookies stay enabled?

Or do I need to be running a script on my site?

    Thanks in advance
