How big is your list? (Who can give honest answers ?:)

I know we have Internet Marketers here at many different levels of experience from beginners to expert marketers. I am very interested in how big a list should be to profitable for yourself.

I recently started building my first list and grew by about 100 in a month.

Now, I want some honest answers from you - How many people do you have in your list/s in total?

I have a relatively small list next to some of the big names who have lists
of 100,000 or more. My list is a little over 5,000 right now, which is more
than enough to provide me with a nice monthly income in addition to my
    other revenue streams.

The size of a list is pretty meaningless. Some people might have a list of 100,000 and still struggle to make a living, whereas I have under 6,000 and make 6 figures a year. And there are even people with less than a thousand subscribers who still make very decent livings.

It is responsiveness that counts, not absolute numbers.

    Martin.

The size of your list is not as important as the quality of the list and your relationship with them. However, I can't think of anyone with a list of 100,000 that is struggling to make money :-). Size and quality both matter.

I just started building a list and I am using a splash page hooked up to my aweber autoresponder and have gotten 120 subscribers in about 3 weeks. I know that doesn't seem like a lot but I'm happy with my progress so far. I haven't got anyone to sign up for my opportunity yet, but I was told it takes time for people to sign up for business opportunities.

I have a list of around 740 which I am very proud of as it's my first attempt at building a list since I started IM. I got my site up on the first page of google for my main keyword (it dances around between 3rd and 10th position) and received a steady stream of 10 - 30 subs a day over a 2 month period. I sell a $17 ebook and if all goes well I'll use the profits to create a membership site. I can't say the niche but it's not in the 'make money online' category which suits me just fine because I don't have to compete against my fellow internet marketers!
