Anyone feel like brainstorming again on a question I asked in 2001?

Hi All,

Back in 2001 when Yahoo's PPC Search was still goto.com I got the URL AllGoTo.com

In 2001 I asked Warriors what it would be good for and got a lot of great answers. I finally decided on using it for a directory. Well, I want to re-purpose that URL now.

I want AllGoTo.com to be "all things to all people." I want it to be my portal to about 3 or 4 other of my endeavors.

It will still link to my local directory, however it will now be a place where people can "All Go To," to find my other stuff.

Make sense? Drop the idea? Any other suggestions?

Any and all ideas welcome.

How about using the url as one of those short url redirect programs.

You could make it through a subdomain like: http://we.allgoto.com/?XXXX

I think that's kinda cool.

Well this doesn't fit with your plans, but what comes to mind immediately for me is "hell", as in AllGoTo "hell" ...

I'd sell space on it for bouquets and bonehead type of postings.

Might be lucrative - would definately be fun.

Hey George,

If I owned it I would be able to say:

We All Go To AllGoTo To Find What We Need.

AllGoto would then have a special robot character as its brand image, cartoon style, that would be interactive with the searcher. Instead of just reading text, allgoto will speak the local listing and announce its number, address, or even call via VOIP.

That's why I go to allgoto...

How about setting up and licencing sub-domains on it?

Places.AllGoTo.com - to a travel agency
Stores.AllGoTo.com, Shops.AllGoTo.com - to a general portal
HolidaySpots.AllGoTo.com - to holiday sites
Websites.AllGoTo.com
Gurus.AllGoTo.com !!! (with multiple sub-niche possibilities there!)
CarDealerships.AllGoTo.com
Seminars.AllGoTo.com (again, many sub-niches)

Just a thought!

I was about to say that making subdomains off it and licensing the same to other established people would be monetarily beneficial. Since the domain has recallability value. Like travel.allgoto.com.
