you start following people and a lot of them will follow you back.

First though, you want to search twitter for people that are commenting on things that have to do with your niche. So if your niche is foriegn car parts, you do a search on twitter for people that are posting comments about foreign car parts.

Those are the people you want to follow and a lot of them will follow you back.

Then you post good stuff about car parts and occasionally post a link back to your site to a new article you have put up or photo or video.

That'll get you traffic from twitter.

Watch what you say on twitter .

People will follow you back based upon it .

I stated one time that I thought was porn degrading to females and now I have at least 4,000 want to be porn pushers following me .

On a bright note ... these are marketers also , they often purchase my traffic stuff.

      Funny Troy,

What a good way to get out of the box..

I know we should be saying "give value" and all but there's an opposite side to everything, and sometimes getting out of the box is also effective

I find that twitter traffic doesn't usually convert very well. But if you want to grow a large number of followers that you can tweet your links to, the key is to basically tweet high quality content, and follow a lot of people (then unfollow the ones who don't follow you back).

You have less than 100 ppl following you . Not sayin this is a good or bad thing but there is no way you can rate twitter traffic with these types of numbers .

I can usually get 100 ppl to any link I tweet . I have built a good list with twitter.

    Additionally (to what winebuddy said),
in purpose to build large followers list, it might be useful to search some twitter directories of tweeple who follow back.
There you can find bunch of followers sorted by niche.
Pay attention to keep your TFF Ratio (Twitter Follower-Friend Ratio) around 1.0 or above by regular follow/unfollow. Posting of quality (niche related) updates matters.

Here's some other ways to get users - if you want to get a mixture of targeted and non-targeted

    1. use current trending #hashtags - and get involved in that conversation
    2. #ff / #followfriday should be used to thank those you are communicating with - bodes well for people checking out yr profile and determining if they want to follow you
    3. Retweet - this way of engaging with users, especially if you want to target users who follow another POWER USER is very useful
    4. ask questions - you will be astonished at how many people will answer your questions, you can then retweet responses
    5. dont over tweet links ... ppl hate it > you must get a combination of conversations, recommendations, retweets and links

you want your profile to look like a conversation, not a sales push

When people start retweeting your links on a regular basis (and then you retweet thanking them for it) you know your twitter game is good.

Internet marketers use twitter to cultivate a relationship with tweeples (or people... i just like to call them tweeple). you could use it to get some street cred.

Twitter is simple to use and this is what made it so popular. We can get more traffic from twitter using this ways:-

      1. Give Your Twitter Followers Value
One of the best ways to stand out from the crowd is to give value. This means giving valuable information, useful information, and let your personality show through in what you say.
Value can be in the form of "quick tips" or nuggets of information that people find beneficial and that are not trying to sell anything.
      2. Connect with people in your network
Remember, Twitter is a social network and if you're not interacting with your followers, you will quickly get the reputation of not caring and people will be less likely to listen to you when you promote links.
One very cool way to interact is ask questions of other people or encourage them to ask you questions and position yourself as an expert in your market.
By doing so you become known as an authority figure your industry over time and this can dramatically increase your credibility when you do promote links to your followers.
      3. Protect Your Reputation
This is an essential tip for businesses. When you are on Twitter, you are branding yourself as well as your business and it is very difficult to be impartial on a lot of topics.
One of the biggest mistakes people make who are using Twitter for business is that they get involved with conversations on social subjects such as politics, religion, and other controversial subjects. Having opinions on these topics is fine, but remember your Twitter followers will have mixed opinions and if you're opinion opposes there's, you automatically lose credibility with that part of your market.
To protect your business interests and reputation, it is better not to get involved with these topics publicly. Believe me, it is all too easy to get dragged into the debate when you have strong feelings. However, if you are risking your profits and losing credibility with your follower base, then that is a bad business decision.
      4. Be Consistent With Your Tweets
Although there are many ways to automate your twitter presence, it is best to set aside at least 30 minutes every day to answer questions and interact with people on Twitter. One of the biggest secrets to using Twitter effectively for business is consistency.
Being consistent helps you build credibility and trust with your followers. In doing this, people actually look forward to your tweets rather than resent them.
      5. Post Useful Links, Not Just Sales Links
One thing I see too often with businesses on Twitter is that every link they put out there is a promotional link trying to sell something. Be generous and send links to useful resources and information relating to your industry, even if it is not your information.
By doing this, you get a reputation for being generous and a valuable asset. People are more likely to trust the links you put out if they vary and are valuable.

      Wish that can benefit you.

      B.Regards

Twitter is done by getting targeted followers following everything you do via twitter. So then when you post to your blog you can then post the details about it automatically on twitter and it will get you a lot of views.

This can also be done via articles you have written, press releases, optin details, special offers etc.

The main idea with twitter is to build relationships you can twice the amount of jvs through twitter because you have built the confidence with the other person.

my free twitter ebook is in my sig and it shows you how to do everything with twitter for your biz.

    kind regards

I would be very happy to help with this

      a) quickly glance through the updates and see if there is anything that is of interest to you or a funny comment etc
      b) click to see that persons twitter profile and have a quick scan of their tweets .. if any are of interest, retweet them OR if they have commenced a conversation in the last little while, respond to them
      c) on friday, include them in your #ff - if you dig their stuff
      d) regularly click on your own name in right hand side to see if anybody has communicated with you

      quick lowdown on tools

      1. Power Twitter - firefox addon ... beefs up the web version of twitter and includes retweet function plus some really cool search functionality

      2. Hootsuite ... great for multiple accounts but also has some nifty functions that allow you to easily scroll thru past conversations so you can find user name. Remembering Twitter Names I find very tricky !!!

      3. Tweetdeck ... good for creating groups etc

      4. Gotta find a follower mgt tool if you want to grow your account to any reasonable size

You have to follow most of your target auidence, then they will follow you..
As well as you have to update you tweets very often, say for every one hour. That will bring you more followers

How do I use the #ff / #followfriday hashtag in my tweets?

    Do I say something like

    "#ff thanks for the follow @abc @xyz @abcxyz @xyzabc"?

    or?

    wont that be spammy?

Being new to Twitter I am interested in how you can still build a huge following now that Twitter has placed strict limits on how many you can follow after you reach 2000?

It would seem that some of the tactics used before are no longer applicable.

With new changes how are you over coming limit and ratios? It seems that no longer can you get thousands to follow you as easy.

    Am I missing something here?

What makes people successful on Twitter?

People don't follow a company on Twitter, they follow a person.
People aren't likely following your business or company.

    They're following YOU.
So how can you make people want to follow you?

    By providing something useful.

The number one question you have to ask yourself:
Why would anyone want to follow me on Twitter?

You have to ask yourself this, over and over.
Nobody logs on to Twitter and says:

"Hey, I see this guy blackDanny.
I think I'll follow him, because I know he needs followers.

    He probably needs my business.
I really can't wait until he posts something I can buy!"

It sounds silly, but this is the mindset most marketers fall
into when they get started on Twitter.

They think they can just set up a Twitter profile,
follow a few people, and watch the cash roll in.

    It's never that easy.

So the number one thing you need to think of is simple.
Your followers are thinking ... What's In It For Me? (WIIFM).

You need to provide information of value to your followers.

Give them a really good reason to follow you.
    Give them something of value.

Answering people's questions and helping them with tips
is a sure way to succeed on Twitter.

Be helpful. Be knowledgeable. Be useful.

Be dedicated. Don't sign up for a Twitter account,
follow a few people then abandon it. Post stuff. Anything.

What did you do or learn that was interesting?
Anything can be interesting on Twitter.

People want to know that you're a real human being.
Real human beings have good days and bad days.

Howard Stern has a huge following because people want to
know what he is doing. They want to know what he's going
    to say next.

It only takes a few seconds to post something, so post it.
Make a resolution that you'll post at least once a day.

Build Relationships and you'll build a loyal following.
