Hello everybody, I was wanting to know what *theme* would be a "good luck" for a site that offers life insurance? I've looked through many sites that offered both paid-and-free themes, but most of them didn't scream "life insurance" to me...
When somebody visits my site, I want them to feel as if I'm legit, just by the overall look and feel of the site (and WordPress theme)... If any of you are able to help me, let me know... |

IMHO nothing beats creating a customized design. If you know photoshop create a design in it and there are many services available on the web that will convert the theme into Wordpress . You will have to search for PSD to Wordpress conversion.
It is the best way to go. Most of the themes that are available are not THAT suitable because in most cases they are not designed for the intended purpose. Moreover insurance is a very different subject.. and you should not feel okay with any general theme available in the market... just my two cents.. |

breakdance,
Something like this would also be good to modify into an insurgence site. Academy | PremiumThemes.net Is this for an affiliate site? You may also want to look at some premium Real Estate agent themes. |

Breakdance,
I am using a great wordpress template for my blog that looks custom in my opinion and it is a clean simple enough design that you could customize easlily even more, because the blog creator makes it point and click simple, and that is what I needed as I don't know know really anything about how to edit PHP or CSS templates. The name of the blog theme is Magazine Basic, and you can find it at Wordpress. Regards, Debbie Quote:

Hey mate, a wordpress theme i often use as is called Mandigo it is free and has so many customizable options it is crazy. If you want to create a custom header for free or simply get a whole bunch of templates that you can play around with download xheader.com it is free also.
This should help whether you are in the insurance niche or any other niche. Have fun and enjoy. If you need any help setting it up, etc PM me. |

Hi mate. Personally I've been using Woothemes, and think they are both very neat and professional looking. Not sure if anyone there "screams" life insurance - but certainly worth a look

I suggest ThemeHybrid.com , which is free, while support costs $25 a year (and certainly worth a lot more).
Why? 1. It offers all sorts of funtionality, is highly versatile in how it can be displayed. 2. It is always updated without your having to worry about messing up how it looks. This is because the styling and appearance is done with a "child theme" (which can be as simple as style.css) that draws from the main theme (which is never directly touched and therefore updating it won't make you lose the design of your theme). 3. Support is excellent (if perhaps a little bit abrasive, lol, but getting the info one needs is what counts). |

What you want to convey is "reliable, trustworthy, legitimate", and often the way to do that is to be a bit on the boring side. Use a common layout, like a two or three column, white background, black print, etc. My advice would be to visit several of the life insurance companies' sites and see what they have in common. In fact, if you know which company you'll be promoting, visit them and see what common elements you can use on your site as well. You will send the unspoken message that you can be trusted because your site looks a lot like the company site. I'm not saying steal their design - that would be deceptive as it would lead the average user to believe you represented the company. But if you use the same background colors, text colors, fonts, etc. on your own distinct and seperate theme, you should be okay. | |
