Same Wordpress Theme Across Multiple Websites?

I stumbled upon a great wordpress theme that has been giving me an amazing CTR across all my sites.

If I use this theme across several websites, is there a chance that I might get banned from Adsense?

All the sites have unique content (10+ pages each) and all the link building is white hat. But if Google sees the same theme spread across dozens of sites, will I get in trouble?

If so, what can I do to make the theme a bit more "unique"?

    Hi sashas

I don't think that Google will penalise you, as for instance so many thousands of websites use the same free WPs.

Best way to customise a theme is to change the images and play around with the CSS and widgets. You get a whole new website almost immediately.

Google doesn't give a darn about your theme. Look at all the Blogger sites that use the same hand full of themes. They rank just fine. I think the only issue would be if your markets overlap and people begin to think of you as some sort of generic franchise or something. But I doubt that would even be a problem.

Thanks for the advice, Wade & seamusb

Of course, lots of websites use the same theme. In my case, its the same theme across ALL my sites. That, coupled with the high CTR (15-25%) might pique Google's interest.

For now, I've taken to making a unique header for each site. Hopefully, that should be enough of a 'unique' twist to each theme.

  • I would say that if you're scoring your high CTRs by honest means, I couldn't see Google caring about your sites' design layout at all.

Yeah.. site design isn't going to make a big difference, if at all, with google. Now, the test on the other hand can leave a footprint.
