Help With Consistent Revenue Generation

Hi All,

I've been experimenting with affiliate and online marketing now for almost 2 years and have yet to find a method that brings in consistent revenue day after day. My clickbank account looks more like a teenager's acne pattern than anything else.

I've tried article marketing, PPC, blogging, and just about every new Internet marketing product out there - clickbank pirate, affiliate blueprints, etc. and nothing has worked for creating consistent revenue. Yes, each affiliate product out there does work if you apply it but in my experience there are now winners when it comes to consistency and sustainability.

I was hoping that the more experienced Warriors could comment here. I'm feeling so frustrated. I don't want people chiming in to sell me their affiliate products - I'm done buying them! I just want to know if there is anything out there that you're doing (that works) to bring in consistent profits.

I'm not looking to retire, just create a nice income stream on top of my day job. Suggestions?

Micheal, you need to plan out a system which you can follow. Also, you said you tried all those other things, but are you doing them religiously? Or are you just chiming in some work every now and then?

It sounds like you are not being consistent....and not the method.

Sorry -- you can work for slave wages (generally) or you can have an unpredictable income.

You don't get both.

However, the unpredictable income usually MORE than suffices for the erratic nature of the income.

You always, as a business owner and entrepreneur, need to be on the hunt.

It's just like any investment in life: you can choose how much security you want or risk you are willing to take.

The more risk you are willing to take, the bigger payoff -- if it pays off.

If you are not comfortable with erratic income -- well, a number of ideas why that may be come to mind:
1. you spend it as soon as you make it
2. you don't make enough

Solve those two problems, and, in general, the erratic nature of the income shouldn't be an issue.

Is there something I haven't covered here? Just ask.

(Yes, erratic income does have some problems when it comes to credit. I've been asked how much I make multiple times this year. The general answer is: "I don't know." It depends upon the month, the season, how many business expenses I have, etc.)

So you look for consistent revenue, The answer would be Membership sites my friend...

Become affiliate of this type of service, or create your own membership site in your niche, don't go for IM niche, It's to difficult..

go for a narrow ones, and prepare everything up like content etc..

you could expect steady income each month for this business models, It's the best model I know in online business,

hey michael the answer to your question is in Judy's post. The key is to do one thing for long enough that it turns into a consistent income.

While you might have tried several things over the last 2 years, what was the one thing that you did all through the 2 years or 1 year or atleast 6 months and see what went wrong with that and fix it. Your chances of success will be much higher.

It sounds as if you've tried a bunch of things which has probably scattered your energy. If you keep trying something new, nothing concrete will ever happen.

I know - I've done the same thing.

The best advice I ever got was to pick ONE thing, focus on that and do nothing else until it either succeeds, you realize you hate it and want to do something else, or you realize it's a dud and it's time to try something else.

If you take an area about which you are passionate, you are more likely to find a way to make it work for you.

Pick one area to start (i.e., skiing)

Do your keyword research (freekeywords.wordtracker.com) and the Google Keyword tool

Get a website with a good keyword phrase in the URL (I register mine at NameCheap.com - I do NOT recommend GoDaddy)

Get hosting

Put up a website using WordPress with the good plugins

Sign up for Google Alerts on using various keyword phrases from your research

Put one to two blog posts up a day (if you pre-date them, you can put up a ton of stuff so it won't look like a brand new site to visitors: one with a current date and one with a pre-date each day works great)

Find Clickbank products and apply the bum marketing method to it

Write and submit at least two articles a week to eZineArticle.com and GoArticle.com

Add an eBay feed (WP has plugins for this, especially phpBay)

Add affiliate products - I add the links before applying to increase my chances of acceptance

See if there are any CPA offers that are related and add those

Every time you get a Google Alert, writing something about it or that is inpired by it and post it.

Subscribe to related magazines (or get them at the library) and use those articles as inspiration. Better yet, get old issues and use those as templates for article ideas.

Do something every day on that one topic - one blog post, one video, one article, one [fill in the blank]

When you have a ton of stuff and are getting decent traffic (it took me about 3 weeks to go from 0-400 a day visitors with just 2 articles a week on eZineArticles.com) then add a forum

Then take a look at how you could turn it into a membership site - come up with something that isn't being done or in a way that isn't being done.

Be checking the related forums, Yahoo Answers and anything else related.

FOCUS on just that area and DO SOMETHING EVERY DAY!!!! If you plan on doing just One Thing a Day, you'll probably end up doing more just because it's gotten you moving and out of inertia. If you don't do One Thing a Day, you won't ever do anything - especially on a consistent basis.

Consistent efforts + focus = consistent results

I had to learn this the hard way, so hopefully you can get it going sooner rather than later.

If a product launches, look at it and see if it's going to help you with what you are doing or not. If it's going to take you in a new direction, don't get it. There are no magic buttons - I don't care what the sales page sounds like. Decide you're not going to spend any money on the next new shiny object for the next 60 days or until you can pay for it with the proceeds of what you've earned. Unsubscribe from anyone's eMails that don't give you value and don't pertain to what you're actually working on.

Don't check your eMail until you've done your One Thing a Day and gotten something accomplished.

Don't check to see what's on TV until after you've done your One Thing a Day.

If it's hard to get going, remind yourself what you're trying to do and WHY. A picture of where you want to live (treasure maps, etc.) Big notes around your house and work areas, a daily something you say (affirmation, or word picture) - whatever it takes.

The more you do this, the easier it gets. Success feeds on itself and gets it to snowball.

Remember, it takes at least 21 days to create a habit, so do whatever it takes to get in the habit and in a month you should start to see something happen.

I probably left something out, but I'm sure others will chime in to fill in the blanks.

Sonomacats, thanks so much for the well thought through reply. The timing of your message couldn't be more helpful. As a result, I'm going to stop chasing rainbows and just focus on the top 2 projects I have at the moment. When I'm done with those I'll give myself free reign to jump from affiliate product to affiliate product again. Thanks!
