Wordpress-like comments on standard HTML site

Hello guys,

I am looking to place a comments/feedback/customer support comments box on a standard HTML site aka wordpress style. These comments should have two characteristics:

1) It allows me (the admin) to approve comments before publishing them
2) It should email back the comment poster when I (the admin) replies with my customer support comment.

Is there any way to do that?

If you type in html guestbook into google, that should help find something too

If you read through the Codex; (over at WordPress.org); you will find that WP has what they call "the loop" built-in where as you can apply it to static/dynamic pages.

Not sure of your technical level, but the functionality that you want is built into WP already.

Can't get much better or easier than this. It's an app called Echo from JsKit. Here's an example, click the little icon on the bottom right to get to their page.

The problem with JS-Kit is that it doesnt email the poster when I reply the comment, thus it doesnt work for customer support.

Be careful with a comments box unless you love porn spam.

The reason I use Wordpress is because there is lots of anti-spam protection available in the form of plugins, especially Akismet for manual spam and WP-Spam-Free from robot spam, as well as moderation queues. I would say 99% of the comments I receive are spam, so you need a way to monitor and protect your site.

sounds like you want the features of a forum

if your site has cpanel there are a few available - you could have a php person customise it to fit the site
here is an example

Also, it does email me whenever a comment is made and it gives the commenter the option to subscribe to the comment thread via email or RSS.

Nice one - I would never have found the link otherwise - all the get started links on the site lead to a paypal page......
I suspect this script has some useful viral features - intergrating with twitter etc

is part of this script - cool feature
is it available in the free version?

They took down the "Rating" feature for new -paying- customer unfortunately
