When getting articles written what do you consider 1. A Fair Price per article? 2. How many words? |

That depends on their intended use, your budget and a variety of other factors. A good content provider will work with you to get the right materials at a price that makes sense. You just can't rely on "I spend $X for XXX words" comments from others. Their business and needs may differ radically from your own. |

I can suggest for "how many words" , you must ask for 200 words or more but can't say anything about price.

Understand but most article writers base it on the the number of words they are going to write. As more words, more time, also usually research is involved Most online services that I have come across private and outsource will tell you how many words your article will have for a certain set price Im trying to determine what most people are paying out for an article and if so how many words those have and are people satisfied with that? $10?, $15 As if you approach someone and say I want 50 articles, I will give you $50, unless the writer quantifies the words written per article. They could end up being told by the person who wants them after that its writing 800 words an article and in that case it may not be worth there time. Depending on how fast they write and how fast they can research |

A fair price depends on the usage, for instance a sales letter from a half decent copywriter could well be $300 mimumum and ten times that for maximum and a 5,000 page report may cost you $10 or ten tiems that. Remarkably some people work at that cheap rate. What you have to decide is the quality that you want if you just want churned out rehashed garbage then an article could cost you as little as a $1. A 500 word article that involves keyword research may be as much as $8. However these are approximate figures and as it is a lottery the price may not reflect the quality La dominatrix |

I know people on rentacoder and elance who wont do an article for less than $15 I pretty much sure from past experience of outsourcing articles you would not get a 500 word article for $8 at least from someone in usa or canada $8 for 500 words is work for indian people, so your liable to end up with a bad article, bad grammar just to save a few dollars per article | |

Naw, you can find plenty of people right here at WF that will write 500-word articles for $8. Even less. Peruse the Warriors For Hire section and you'll see. A lot of new freelancers who are actually good writers will lowball it to build up a client base. At the other end of the spectrum, you have people here who are elite article writers and charge $40 or even $50 for one such article. It's even higher in the offline print world. I sold an article a few years ago (fictional short story, really) for $200. It was about 800 words. I would recommend looking at samples before you hire anyone. If you're hoping to get into freelancing yourself, build a nice portfolio of high quality samples to show prospective customers. Testimonials are very important, too. Make sure to get rave reviews from your first clients to help you sell others on your service. Then you can work your way up to charging higher prices yourself. John |

I would never write 500 words for $8, not even at my promotional prices. Especially not at a continued rate. Expect to pay at least $.02 / word for anything decent. I rarely work for under $.03 / word myself.

A fair price is basically what someone is willing to pay. You may think a price of $9 an article may be fair while others think that is cheap and others think that is expensive. Value/fair price is a very relative term because many, maybe even most, people don't view value in the same terms. What others find to be a great deal, others think is only average and vice versa.
