I just want to get your take on what really matters when it comes to article marketing.
I've seen people who have thousands of articles where readers numbers are in the single digits or double digits for the last year. And I've seen people who only have a few articles and have thousands of view in just the last couple of months. What's better? Are the thousands of articles with few views only considered backlinks to websites? It seems I'm missing something! |

It will land on keyword research. Most people targeted long tail keywords and add those keywords as part of the title. If you have thousands of articles with good keyword title then you could have potential thousands of readers and backlinks.

If your article gets a lot of views, it'll be featured in the most viewed articles lists in its category (on EZA).

The more viewers you get to your articles the more likely you are to get clicks on your links. More clicks equals more traffic to your site...and more traffic will hopefully lead to more sales.

So technically with all other things being equal 1000 articles with 1000 views a month is the same as 10 articles with 1000 views a month?

It matters very significantly. The more vies you articles get, the more traffic you will get to your website. So you want to make sure you articles get the most views as possible.

I'd say the most important thing is how many visitors it gets to your sales page and you then convert. Nothing else matters. I said it before in another thread. Whether it's mass articles where the views add up or it's far fewer where they get far more viewers per article both methods make money. It all comes down to can you convert them once they get to the point of a buying decision on your site.

I think that you should and can have both if you want its a question of what brings you the most money per the amount of time spent. If it takes you ages to do one article using good keyword research and/or you are not very good at it when you can produce lots of articles with an overall amount of traffic then i say that its better to go for that because then you are getting more backlinks too which are pushing you up the search engine.

Is does, you have to understand one article is not the same as another. A Better article will get more readers, and the results will follow. A not so good article will do the opposite.
Sometimes people purchase article writers that are very good. This gives them a huge advantage over the normal article writers. Many article sites do not allow purchased articles. Your article also needs to be in the right category. |

If you take closer attention to the top viewed articles on any article directories most of these articles are contraversial or have something to do with current events.
But I will bet my 2 cents, whoever owns those articles won't make significant sales from their links. Ask me why? Article directory owners does make the big slice of the pie, they would do everything to monetized top articles. Yes, you've got good backlinks but it won't even matter if there's a big banner or adsense ads on it.Another thing, even you have a very good written articles and viewed 1 million times but if your offer stinks it won't even matter. ![]() My Tips: Have a good offer first (product) make sure you have a blog, post your best contents on your blog first, then after 2 weeks or so post your original contents on several article directories with a tweak. Make sure you don't submit the whole article content, always make a way to cut it halfway going to the climax of the topic and put ">>Read More" at the end with a link to your nice blog. ![]() Some article directories would not accept it but others won't even care... Also, your views isn't as important as the result of those views. If the 1000 articles getting 1000 views a month are generating 900 clickthroughs while the 10 "good articles" are only generating 5 clicks a month, then the 1000 are obviously doing more for your business. I've always been a quality minded guy. I either write or purchase what I consider the best articles I can make money from. I just feel like going with quality is a better long-term strategy. That said, it's always a subjective thing when you're talking about what is quality and what isn't in terms of literary value. The problem I have with anything people consider a "numbers game" is that I've always felt like it discourages improvement. For example: I've known guys who said, "You throw out an approach to 15 girls, you get laid once. It's a numbers game. The more girls you talk to, the more you get laid. You want to get more chicks, get out and talk to more chicks." While that is true, learning to read body language and improving your "score ratio" to 1 roll in the hay per 5 girls you talk to means you're working 66% less for the same results. That means improving your quality is moving toward either working less for the same thing, or working the same amount for much more, which means you're increasing the value of your efforts. With articles used for promotion, the biggest thing I see that I don't like is that too many people consider a literary masterpiece a higher quality. I've always disagreed. I think quality is measured as how much income that article generates, period. If 80% of people who read my articles then went and bought whatever I was promoting, then turned around and shot me an email telling me those were the crappiest articles they ever read, I'd still smile every time I had a full inbox knowing those were some quality articles.

if it gets only very few views then it only serves for obtaining backlinks.

You might publish a really good, interesting article, one that gets lots of views, but the mistake a lot of article writers, espectially noobs, make, is that their articles tell the whole story - to the point where the reader has no reason to follow the link for more information. Such articles may also be attractive to other website owners for that very reason, so again they are widely read, but low conversion can be the end result. Internet marketers aren't looking for tire-kickers are they? They want buyers - so getting a lesser number of targeted buyers is better than a huge number of lookers. Quality not quantity. Of course..... more targeted buyers is the bomb.
