Default Some Membership Site Advice Please.

Have been thinking about a membership site with free and paid memberships.
Each having access to different levels of content and downloads.

My question is what do you think is the most functional design and layout for this kind of site.

Also if you have links to both good and bad it would be useful to conpare and contrast.

Cheers
Gregg

Hey Gregg,

I have had great success using a forum coupled with Amember in the past.

Amember allows you to integrate many different levels of membership, from free, to several different levels.

Many membership site softwares locks out your content from the reach of visitors and from google as well. Thus not helping your SEO ranking at all.

Check out my article regarding having your membership site to protect your premium content as well as giving you a chance to rank high on search engines.

But not everyone can afford Amember. I use Memberspeed and it's easy to use, feature packed, 30 days free trial, and really just amazing.

Hi Gleb, a membership should be private as it make me feel that I get exclusive rights to content. When you belong to a club and people can wonder around the club and check everything out then members get annoyed. But when there is a doorman then the members feel they get there moneys worth. So hiding all access is good in terms of that. For SEO giving a teaser on the front page is just as good and could make visitors have itchy fingers to log into paypal.

I would leave the marketing upto affiliates and article marketing maybe with a blog to help with SEO

That is why I got into the WAR ROOM. Every flippin time I scrolled down the forum there was this closed door winking at me so I couldn't take it any longer and signed up for 20 years

Ha..ha - same with me... and probably with millions of other visitors.
Membership sites or any sort of "for premium members only" type of content protection - is quite a popular business model these days.
It could be a blog or website or forum - and it works.
