Default How do you guys get reviewers for your ebooks?

How do you guys get reviewers for your ebooks? Say you have the hottest new ebook on whatever topic and you need a few reviews/testimonials for your sales page. How do find people to review your ebook?

HI Nick, It is a good idea to give your ebook away for free to a select few marketers. Tell them your giving them the book for free and what its worth. Then ask them for a review of the ebook and you will put them up on your front page with their testimonial. Find marketers in your niche as you will want to target them and not someone outside of it. Someone people turn to and look up to if they have many students for example would be optimal to get a testimonial from them. When they see their face and a good review of your product you will more then likely get their sales. In many cases the people you give your ebook to who review it will want to be affiliates of it and promote it to their list as well.

Hope this helps you get started

I recently moved away from my tried and tested method (will explain that in a moment) and approached a few Warriors and asked them if they had time to review my new product. Everyone said yes but only a few responded back after they received the product. Now being in the same game as these guys I know how busy it can get, and I'm very, very grateful to the few who did take the time to review my stuff. It's more than I expected to be honest.

Point being, in my limited experience, Warriors are always willing to help out - but - they too, like you, have a business to run.

The way I've always done it before was to approach potential affiliates (high traffic websites) and offer them your product as a freebie.

If they like it, then you've also got someone who might be willing to offer your product to their visitors in exchange for a slice of the pie. Doing this alone has made me almost $100k on autopilot.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: I'm currently on vacation & will answer all messages when I return - Happy Holidays!!

Nick,

The quickest and easiest way is to ask for them.

The most important thing is to ask for "Reviews", not "Testimonials". There can be a world of difference. Don't even mention "Testimonial" in the same sentence as "Review." A review, by definition, is unbiased–an evaluation; a testimonial is, again by definition, totally biased.

When asking for reviews—particularly if it's one of your first products—establish review criteria. Ask your reviewers to answer specific questions.

Things like: Is it easy to read? Is the type size too small, too large or just right. Do the illustrations help you understand the subject matter? Is it too long or short? Does it go far enough to make the concept unequivocally clear? Did this book provide you with real value? What is your opinion of the writing? Did it cover the subject?

Require promises of answers to the questions to receive the review copy.

The questions will provide judgment criteria for the reviewer and you may even get real answers from a few.

You'll notice I asked much the same question in a couple different ways. You may find answers to that interesting. It will go a long way toward determining the reliability and/or comprehension skills of the reviewer.

Once you've developed your criteria, make a post requesting a set number of reviewers. Establish a set time frame for the process.

As the requests come in, carefully pre-qualify the potential reviewers. Look at their profiles, post histories, signatures and any links in their signatures.

That's one way to do it if you're truly serious in wanting reviews.

If your product is good testimonials will follow. Some may be offered by pleased reviewers.

For a non internet marketing products I will usually contact bloggers related to the niche. I will ask them to do a review and I will do a promotion on their blog to give away a free copy to one of their visitors. This helps me get free marketing as well.
