Using lead-in offers to build a list

Hello Warriors,

I have been reading up on lead in offers, and want to start incorporating these into my business.

They say that you should make a lead in offer for like $7-$27 dollars and offer 100% commission on it to have other people build your list.

If we used internet marketing as an example niche, why would anyone want to promote these cheap offers when there are plenty of higher paying offers out there?

Can anyone clear this up for me?

    Personally I wouldn't usually promote them at that level of commission, but the general principle of having a low barrier to entry initial product and a list of proven buyers is sound.

    Of course, it would depend on the conversion rate for the affiliate rather than just the commission level. I'd rather promote a $20 commission product that converts at 3% than a $35 commission product that converts at 1%.

    One reason I would use low cost offers like that is on one of my Training/Resource pages that I make available to my members. If I feel it is a tool/resource that would be beneficial to them, I might have it listed as a recommended option.

    Many successful internet marketers do use this tactic of starting low and building high however me personally I would not, when I was a very successful double glazing salesman I was taught to act on starting high and if needed going lower and thats the principle I work on because I believe its about massive profits rather than small ones

    I would say do not knock commission on a product just because it sells at a low cost. Always check out the conversion rates first. Also, be wary of offers of 100 percent commission. Personally, I would not promote a product like that.

      I would see the conversion first before making decision to promote the product or not,

      The high or the low ones doesn/t really care about it,

      Because high conversion = more sales..

      I'l promote $ 1 product if it's conversion is good..., but i will not promote $ 197 product if it's conversion is poor,

      I guess you should consider the conversion before promoting the products,
