Cutting back to part time work to focus on IM goals. Have you done similar?

The last couple of years I've been so focused on building a solid full time work history. But this year, (after attending an IM seminar) I've finally made the decision to cut back to part time employment (effective in a few weeks). I found myself getting quite frustrated with feeling like I didn't have enough time to devote to learning IM... It seems to gobble up so much time!!!

But now I'm quite excited. Although I'll have to budget a little more, I think having an entire day per week to stay focused on my goals and try different IM strategies... will be worth it. So I’ve set myself a goal ($50k in 365 days), and I’m currently working out HOW exactly I’m going to meet the goal.

My first two steps will be:

• Develop a niche blog site – (with the potential to develop it into a membership site long term).

• Promote an affiliate product using Google Adwords or Yahoo Advertising.

If you were starting from square one… what would you do to meet this goal?

i am doing the exact same thing
I'm working till 14:00 at a part time job from sunday to thursday and the rest of the day i'm working on my online business.

at my job i have internet access so I can work on stuff there as well. =]

I'd consider learning WordPress and setting up your own blog. This can be in either a website type style or a blog style - or a combination of the two.

I'd also study P. Marshall's stuff for AdWords techniques - but beware. Google often changes the rules without telling you - and your charges mount up big-time. Try learning Adsense instead.

Another technique would be to learn how to write your own articles. This one skill can be applied to blogging and forums as well as posting on article distribution sites. And if you write enough articles, you can clump them together and sell'em as an ebook! No more affiliating, just market your own product.
