Default Odd stats in Google Analytics: visitors out of nowhere?!

Sometime ago I was going to set up google analytics for a friend, so I set up a new analytics account for his site

But I wasn't able to add the tracking code because he wasn't able to get the password for his server for ages

Now some weeks later I get the password, yet when I check the google analytics account I see it already shows some data!!

11 visits, 100% from Wednesday, September 16, 2009

how is this possible for any data at all to have been acquired?? I haven't touched his website at all yet to add the ga.js

further notes, all from: thebesthosting.org and all from Brazil (8 visitors, 23 page views)
