Can you Make lots of Money without a Blog? If Yes then How?

Firstly, since I have just started by Journey at Warrior - HI! I am Jackie Jackson and I am a full time Internet marketer like most of you - part time currently cause I am doing some university courses.
I've been on Digitalpoint for a long time. Always stayed away from warrior I don't know why, maybe DP itself was always sufficient for me. Warrior seems to be a bit different (although I can't really tell how) -hopefully my warrior journey will be as fruitful as the one at DP. Now lets get to the meat of this thread:


Its been 4-5 years in the Internet marketing field for me. Surely I have done my bit - I have failed and I have succeeded and I have been between them for the majority of the time - very much like most Internet marketers today.

But throughout this Journey I have never really set up a proper blog or social platform like a forum - and I was always made to believe that the only way to earn the 100ks and the 200ks is to set up a Blog or any other social platform where you attract lots of traffic and build relationships with them.

People like Darren Rowse, Daniel Socco and John Chow have been living examples of this theory.

Its is not that i haven't made any money - but never really crossed the 10K mark (monthly)- ever - in my 3-4 years in Internet marketing .

So my question is:

Is the only way to the Top of the Internet marketing industry - is to Blog?

If Yes, then isn't it too slow a way to climb up - in this over crowded industry -IM, where there are 1000s of IM blogs how should one carve his/her niche and get loyal traffic that does stick on...

If Not:

Whats the best way to make the first 100k - ofcourse - I mean when you're initial investment is close to zero - or only a couple of hundred dollars.

I am dying to get your insights on this!

I've taken the route of software development for internet mareters. This has been fruitful for me, but the 100k mention above is way beyond my return. I am seeing about 1000 a month off of two products.

But I have had more success with software developments(more like marketing software), than with my amazon and ebay adventures. I am hoping that as I continue seo, things will get better on the blog/affiliate side.

you need to build SEO blog that drive you flood of taregeted traffic before you thinking in earning money. it is an effective approach

Making real money online is about interrupting or diverting large amounts of targeted traffic to high volume and/or high priced products.

Same as it always was. Same as it always will be.

Traditional blogging, as recommended by the three clowns you list, is perhaps right up there amongst the most labour intensive/low return methods of achieving this.

If you're already making up to $10K pcm with other methods, I'd concentrate on scaling those things and pass on the whole "celebrity pro blogger" crap.

Great response. Really I totally agree that blogging is too labor intensive - maybe the pro bloggers want us to c things in a different light.

Exactly right. You don't have to be a star to make money online. In fact, most people will do better to stay behind the scenes making money quietly.

so were saying that if I am marketing a affiliate product for clickbank, I shouldn’t use the blogging approach and drive traffic to my blog through article marketing with hopes that they click on my affiliate promotional product link on my blog? What other method should I use? Or did I read this wrong?

If you're already making decent cash, seek to scale up and/or replicate it in another niche and don't bother with blogging.


Can't say I do but blogging is an viable method of generating visitors if done right.

I believe that blogging is good, good for firecting traffic to my main goal where I can pull in up to $2000 per sale

But then again I also believe that if i was to set up a blog and set out clear goals liek as youve said 'make 100k a year' i would look at how, the best ways, learn and take action on everything!

Everything is mindset, the fact you are on here looking for another way tells me that you dont beliee that you can do it, if people like Darren Rowse, Daniel Socco and John Chow have done it, look at what they do, how they do things and implement them on your own site.

I bet even those guys had to work past the 10k mark

Blogging takes a lot of hard work, advertising and effort... If you have the time to grow and SEO your blog go for it. If you want to make mass amounts of money online start building and growing your relationships and grow a list, put together a amazing product promote the hell out of it and open it to the public then shut it down and re do it again

No. But ask yourself a couple of questions;

Is my Clickbank book a high volume product in comparison to, say, mobile phones? How could I drive traffic to such mobile phone offers more effectively, less labour intensively and in much greater numbers than by maintaining a blog and posting articles on other people's assets and relying on "hopes?"

The whole point of marketing is to do everything we can to reduce and, in a perfect world eradicate, any reliance on "hope" or "chance" of conversion.

The OP was asking; in order to make a lot more money does he need to use a blog. The obvious (simple) answer is, "No."

There are so many ways to making money online. There is no real right or wrong way. However, like anything else, some approaches are a lot more effective than others.

The choice of which system is adopted by an individual generally comes down to what numbers they set out to achieve or hope to scale up to or even what they feel they enjoy spending their time doing.

Blogging is only one tiny little speck in the internet marketing ocean, and whoever told you that blogging is the best way to big cash, was probably trying to push you his affiliate link for Blogging To Teh Bank 3.0! lol...

There are thousands of ways to make money online,

But it all boils down to this:

Find a group or groups of people who are hungry for something..

GIVE IT TO THEM!

I don't mind having a "blog" in the sense that I'm willing to use something originally designed as "blogging software" to make a web site (and God knows I can't make one any other way), but that's the blogging limit, for me. Mind you, even that means less and less these days, because static pages and all that stuff have more or less done away with the distinction between "blogs" and "web sites" now. (Oh - and I don't mind using Blogger for large numbers of one-page "sites" just as part of a backlink strategy, because that's fairly painless even for a technophobic airhead like me).

hey thank you everyone for your insights.

finally - the myth that blogging is the only way to get to the top has been busted - atleast for me. I just wanted alot of people to reinforce that there are alot better ways to make money than to blog. I mean blogging consumes so much time and the return is poor because people avoid spending money on blogs - because they somehow feel that info on blogs should be completely free.

I totally agree that private product launches are the best way to earn lots of money - in fact thats what I do nowadays

So finally, I can stop regretting for not blogging!

Yep and there are living proof on this forum of people making stacks of cash using blogs.

That said (from personal experience) I'm definately agreeing with the opinion that a squeeze page to collect info and funnell traffic as an affiliate marketer is a quicker and simpler solution than a blog (which is longer term and more stable).

My opinion on this depends what value you offer to your readers on your blog if you give good value people will trust and come back to you. I wouldn't expect my blog to make me income directly with advertisements placed on it but have an opt in box on it allowing you to build a list from your visitors in an indirect way this is how you could make money from your blog.
