Hey I tried logging in to paypal, and they asked me to "Update account information", including a registration number for business. I don't own a business, but I have a paypal business account because I need to accept payments for WSOs. What should I do? |

Make sure you are not on a phishing site asking for your account information

If you don't have a business then you should choose a Premier account instead. Andrew |

| I logged in from paypal's main page, checked the Verisign verification. It's real. Now I need to know what to do, I should have signed up for premier but I accidentally clicked business when I upgraded my account.

You shouldn't have to give them some sort of business registration number. I'm wondering if they are asking for this because they don't have the bank account info they want or something. Anyway, if you can't get past that screen, call PayPal customer support and try to get them to advise you: 1-888-221-1161

They want something similar to a social security number, thats why. If you call them up, thats what they will ask for when you tell them that you don't have an actual business/EIN. I hope you don't have any money in your account. I would suggest either closing your account and opening a new one as a Premier instead of Business, or asking PayPal to change your existing account. |

I also think that you have to call them and explain the situation. I had a problem with blocked account for about 3 month when a called them they fixed my problem within 3 days

Call the PayPal customer service line. Make sure someone from PayPal tells you exactly what is going on and what, if anything, they need from you and why.

I got a way around this, I clicked the "Help" link on the top of the page where it asks for the Business Number, and then from the help page I just clicked on "My Account". And everything is running as usual now. Hope that helps, I'm still going to contact paypal though to see what's up with that. Good luck |
