Hi, I have started using Twitter since being flooded with so much offer on how to use it to make money but I have noticed that now Twitter has put limits as to how many people you can follow etc. It seems that its easy to follow 2000 but after that it takes some work and you can't get 1000's of followers as easy. I was able to of course follow the first 2000 easy and from that I was able to get more than 1000 followers but then it became a chore to get more followers due to ratio that they use. I have build my account too over 3000 followers but that was like over a 3-4 week period of following 200-300 new people a day and then the next day unfollowing those that did not follow me and following another 200-300 and repeating the process. During this time I created my own software to add followers and to send auto tweets and I use buzzom.com to undelete as I did not put that feature in my software yet. I have managed to get around 4500-5000 follwers between my 3 accounts which is not a lot compared to what I have seen but them most of those were before the new limits and ratio's came into play. I tested out to see if I could convert those followers to sales and here was my results... I picked top seeling clickbank products and tweeted about them and I was able to generate over 1500 clicks and a grand total of $0.00 dollars. I think that one problem is that Twitter has become saturated with people using it to try and make money that not many actually look at what you tweet. Now I realize that I did not try to convert those people into subscribers which is what I will be focusing more on now then sending them to an affiliate page. I was always told that most programs convert 1 out of every hundred person into a sale which clearly did not happen. Not sure why that was as I know that others are making money with them but yet I made zero. Don't really have an answer... Now here is my question, is Twitter still a good way to make money and how can you get 1000's of followers fast with the new limits in place? I am sure I am missing something here but as I said I am just starting to use Twitter and am learning. Using my method I could possible get 500-1000 new followers in a week but to get the big numbers like say 50K followers would take me almost a year and even then I have no guarantee of making any sales. Should I stick to converting my followers to subscribers? Thanks in advance. John |

Hi john ive been using twitter since xmas and found that once my twitter account hit the 5,000 mark i was receiving sales everyday and this has increased at a great rate. (i now have 60k+). The thing about twitter is it requires a lot of maintenance and if you dont have the time outsource it. For example my longest job is deleting the direct messages so will get someone else to do this. Do you use socialomph to generate sales? I also disagree with having more than one account if your just in the make money online niche for example you really dont need more than one. I have several businesses online but just have one for me and one for my husband. You have two choices - follow people or contribute on the system to get the followers. I prefer the communication aspect as twitter is about building relationships with others not just following people. For your unfollows though google twitter karma as this will do it for you in the click of a mouse. If you need any more help or advice there is a twitter ebook (free one) that i wrote in my sig or you can pm me. kind regards sam X |

Hi Sam, I downloaded your ebook and will be reading it. I have 3 accounts as they are for 3 different things I am involved in. For example I set one up for my fitness site that I only promote fitness related stuff. 60K since December is awsome. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to outsource. I got bombarded with so many DM's that I don't bother reading them.... Was outsourcing the reason you have reached 60K in a short time? Doing it my way I can maybe get 500, 1000 tops a week due to ratios since you can only follow a few hundred more than are follwing you. Have not figured out the exact number since I do not know Twitters ratio. John P.S. I was born in Portugal, well the Acores... :-) |

I started promoting a product as an affiliate last month. I might have posted a half-dozen Tweets about it in the entire month. Two days ago, I got a notice from PayPal that I had $50 deposited in my account for affiliate sales. Guess it works depending upon what you're promoting. Other things I've promoted haven't made a dime.Pete |

You might have a point there. I tried to pick what I thought were high rated CB programs but after 1500 clicks and no sales I started to wonder. I am now going to try and focus less on sales and using it to build my list. | |

Twitter is about building relationships. Sometimes this takes time. But here are some tips that have helped me get more sales to my affiliate accounts. 1. Don't spam. People like to buy, but they don't like to be sold to. 2. Give good advice, quotes and good information, and don't leave a spammy affiliate link every time you tweet. 3. Don't send people directly to an affiliate sales page with your tweets. Send them to an article on your website or blog that contains your affiliate link. 4. Give, give, give. Be a repository of information and people will begin to respect and trust you. In other words, take cold market, turn them into warm market, then they will be interested in what you have to sell. 5. Follow people who are interested in what you have to say/sell. |
